ChiTown Bonehead

The fumble fingered bonehead tire changer pit crew award goes out to Almirola's team. Clint pulled a top 5 out of the mess, Almirola got buried in 25th after leading the most laps

The cross eyed lap traffic at the end of the race, even though we should send them a Christmas ham for setting up that all time classic finish lmao
The 41 and 17 were at least racing for position. Newman was just being Newman, he was around nobody.

Clint for sure.

Can I say Larson? My thought process was he didn’t finish the job on KDB, if you’re gonna wreck em then wreck him.

The 10's pit crew, for sure. Aric had a rocket ship and got held back from making the most of it.

Larson’s intentions weren’t to wreck him, unlike Busch’s.
Actually it was Checkers or Wreckers. Does that ring a bell?

Nice try, how original. Although demonstrably false.

Checkers or wreckers involves racing to the line, laying it all out for the win. See Darlington with Busch & Craven.

Kyle Busch had no intention to race Larson to the finish line. Anyone can simply drive through the leader to win. Takes more talent to race them through and through.

Had Larson not run into the 18, he wouldn’t have gotten turned

Larson made a strong move to try & pass, came up short and got into Busch. Racing on the final lap, racing deal.

Busch made no racing move for a pass, and gunned it to drive through Larson. Not even an attempt to move him up the track, straight up nailed him. That’s simply not racing IMO. That’s a derby.

I would have much rather have seem them come off 4 clean and bang it out coming across the line.

To each their own.

Kyle Busch retaliated and won. It was a great finish.
I knew when Larson got into the 18 that something was gonna happen. Initially, I wasn’t sure if the 18 would recover after getting mashed into the fence.
When I saw the 18 still rolling I knew Larson wasn’t going to win. Larson knew it too, that’s why the thumbs-up after the checkered flag.
Awesome racing deal.

I don’t mind what Larson did.
The 42 made a move, put the 18 in to the fence, the 18 didnt have time to discern if it was on purpose or not so returning the favor was just. The 42 made a mistake by not rolling the top going in to 1 then taking the lead down the back straight. It would have been over.

yeah if he went all the way high, all KB could have done was bang him forward. so what if he slaps the fence if he was already against it. That is if KB is even able to get to larson. The top groove slows down a lot less on corner entry. larson had to check up more by going low in turn 3. There was a moment I thought larson might save it enough to stay in the gas to the line.

It's between the 10 and 14, but has to be the 10 for putting a top 10 car in 25th.

Of course I didn't like the result, but I'm OK with what went down. Once Larson ran Busch into the fence, Busch earned the right to punt him out of the way. Just basic frontier justice. As for Busch's antics AFTER the race, classy. NOT! Every time you think Kyle has finally moved on from acting like a 12 year old on a playground, the old Kyle resurfaces.

You’re correct but he didnt finish the slide job which resulted him in almost wrecking KB. At that point mine as well put him in the fence for good, because if you don’t finish KDB off at that point for good, well Larson going around happens. Have no problem with it either, just hard Racing. Actually a sick save by Larson and not hitting anything I actually thought he was going to come out of the spin still in the lead or close to it. His car control is amazing.

I had to double check the title of this thread because I didn't think the exciting finish was a bonehead move. I'll give it to Bowyer who could have been part of that finish.

I don’t think I’ve EVER got the impression he had grown up or matured. But he had every right to do what he did on the last lap.

Bonehead to other Busch complains about being raced for a stage win.

I don’t care what a driver does after the race is over.
