Hell yes! Two great days in a row! 5 Hour Energy balls up, flips off the establishment, and signs Clint for 3 more years. Yes! That's Aaron's long term and 5 Hour long term. Reports of MWR's demise have been greatly exaggerated!!!!!! Gonna go get me some 5 Hour!!!

That's until he does something incredibly stupid again...which is not out of the realms of possibilities.

Still 26 races left so he might yet prove an idiot once more.

Is there a driver you don't talk **** about?

I'm glad 5 hour and Aarons had the balls to stay and support MWR. My hats off to MWR for not giving up. This new news makes me want to drink a bottle of 5 hour and go shopping for some new appliances.

I agree in spirit and I appreciate their support. But you will never catch me in an Aarons store. Seems like just a slight grade above the payday loan sharks imo.

It would take some righteous eye candy working inside for me to forsake my principles.

Rent to own on the eye candy?

Napa had a long term sponsorship and look at how that went

NAPA's sponsoring this kid now by the name of Chase Elliott. I'd say they are looking just fine.

...until this kid becomes bigger than NAPA's wallet. Don't forget that they were never big spenders. I suspect that if Elliot continues to progress Mr. H. will not offer him at the discount MWR accepted for Truex.

Someone please medicate the #24 fans before they read this.

Glad to see that Clint's gonna be on board for another few years. I'm glad 5-Hour Energy and Aaron's decided to stay on through the biggest overreaction in the history of NASCAR. F*** you, NAPA.

Maybe NAPA will be okay with that seeing as their new driver actually runs up front.... OK OK I know Chase is a Nationwide rookie but I couldn't help myself!

They'll become bigger spenders once he moves up to Cup. Way too much upside to let him go.

I don't think they overreacted at all. I doubt there decision to pull out was just because of the Richmond scandal, as much as it was past issues at MWR as a whole. I'm sure during the illegal fuel additive in '07, NAPA probably warned MWR not to screw up again. That was kinda a pretty big deal and quite a black eye. What happened? MWR screwed up big time again.

The thing I didn't like about how NAPA handled that whole thing is that they went for the self-righteous angle, when really they were just using the incident as an out.

I agree that NAPA probably wanted to move to greener pastures, but I wouldn't completely dismiss the integrity issues they had with MWR.

I'd be pretty pissed if I was in NAPA's shoes and had my name tagged to the fiasco at RIR. Especially the way MWR/Waltrip and Bowyer handeled the situation after the fact.

clint is kinda zany. Interesting to watch.
Good for him hes got a deal...

For MWR what comes around goes around...Have you all forgotten how he stole the NAPA sponsorship from his dead buddys wife............The whoring of sponsorship money is a ruthless part of motorsports...BUT...What he did to DEI was ignorant...........

Fair enough. Even though I'm not crazy about NAPA, I do like Chase Elliott and will continue to root for his success.

wow, a guy wants to start his own team and simply asks the people he was working with and representing if they want to be part of his new team?? thats stealing from a dead guy??? you gotta be kidding me. napa met the contract with DEI and decided to move in another direction. So when a team does not renew a drivers contract and hires someone else is the new guy stealing the job of the old guy?? lets not forget team owners have quite a bit of latitude when it comes to letting a driver go. Nascar is a business with millions on the line.

I feel great for MWR IMO this restablizes them and gives them an opportunity to recover from what happened. I would be trying to secure a deal with carl edwards.

NAPA could have sponsored any team/driver they chose to....There's a reason their back with an Earnhardt namesake signing the checks....Mikey is the biggest PUKE in NASCRAP...

that is sad you feel that way. you lack a fundamental understanding of business and marketing. mikey we all know isn't the most talented driver out there. he works hard to keep his business going in other ways. yes he comes off goofy at times. why hate on a guy working hard to do what he has to do to stay in the sport. If I was a sponsor I would consider MWR strongly because they do one of the best jobs in the business promoting a brand.

Tell it to the 100 employees and their wives and kids who lost their jobs because of MIKEYS stupidity...The storyline of how last years SPINGATE went down is CLASSIC Goofy MIKEY's concept...If you think it was a split second shoot from the hip action your a FOOL...NASCRAP didn't think so and fined him $300k

HMS had the Budweiser sponsorship for a few years in the mid 90, until they left HMS after 98 and went to DEI in 99 to sponsor the #8 car.

Same thing, right?

It may defy logic, for some, but I like ol clint. His team was using good strategy, that was all part of the show - till it wasn't. I'm glad he has a long term sponsor. He can drive and I'm glad he's in the sport.
I like Clint but I can't stand Mikey.

Clint's one of my faves and so was Mikey when de drove. The guys a goofball but he's a good hard working dude and he's built a new contender which is good for the sport. Spin gate was a black eye but I think people need to move past that. This stuff has happened for years and lets not forget nascar manipulates these races every week with bs cautions. Seems a tad hypocritical to punish your children for doing the same things you do on a weekly basis

Nope....There were 2 more years left on the NAPA contract with MWR....MIKEY"s stupidity was the only reason NAPA dumped him...When MIKEY stole the NAPA sponsorship, he was still under contract with DEI...He went like the SNAKE he is behind the scenes and cut the deal. He announced he was leaving DEI but never said where he was going....All along knowing full well he was starting MWR with NAPA $$$$$$$$$$$$$............

If he was still under contract with DEI they must have allowed him to leave. And if NAPA was under contract with DEI they could have sued them for breach of contract, so it must have been a driver deal with NAPA or DEI allowed that too.
I think you're making way too much out of it.

imo Jr did much worse to DEI when he left to go to HMS. You don't think he went behind Teresa's back to cut a deal with HMS? He buried DEI when he left.

I think everyone, including Teresa, knew Jr was going elsewhere if she didn't give him what he wanted.
