College Basketball 2025-2026

Duke is still very good but I’m skeptical of how deep they can go in the NCAAT as long as they can only go 7 deep. They need to get at least Ngongba back from injury by the time the second weekend rolls around.
 
Going back to my earlier memories I remember UNC being coached by Dean Smith.

The TarHills would be get a lead then constipate the game to maintain the lead with the four corners. They would often catch a team off guard after a couple minutes passing the ball around the perimeter tik tik tik, and then find an open man for a trash lay-up.

I think it is one of the reasons for the shot clock in college basketball.
 
For the first time ever, Nebraska has won an NCAA Tournament game! The Huskers were the last power conference team in the nation to have never won in the tourney.
 
Siena starters played almost the entire game, until finally subbing with 10 seconds remaining. No juice left in those legs down the stretch. But they fought like hell.

Duke is in serious trouble as long as they can only go 7 deep.
 
Went to the TT/Akron and Bama/Hofstra session earlier today. Both underdogs certainly were more competitive than the score indicated for most of the game, it’s just tough to compete when the favorites find another gear after the U8 and U4 timeouts.

Was pretty fun when word started to spread throughout the arena of the UK/SC finish. There’s nothing like March.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee Hubert comes back next year. Probably hear something by the end of the weekend if so.

Oats would be an interesting option for UNC, would give a bit of edginess that they’ve been lacking for a while.
 
For the first time ever, teams from the 13-16 seed lines have gone winless in consecutive years. I’m not sure two years is enough to call it a trend, but it’s not nothing.

Lots of good R32 matchups though, and last year we were rewarded for our patience with the best Final Four ever.
