Yep, another Danica thread. ;)

“I’ve had concussions,” Patrick said. “I’m sure every time you crash you have a concussion of a varying degree. So when (Earnhardt) said something about having 12 concussions, I was like, ‘I’m sure I’ve had 12 concussions, you know?’ “

12 concussions? That's INSANE!

She said it continues to place increased scrutiny on the issue, even after the recent NASCAR announcement that it will step up its concussion protocol procedures when it comes to examining drivers who have taken hits and determining whether or not they should sit out races as a result.

So, NASCAR's implementing a new protocol? Good. And to think, fans whined and cried like snowflakes over the "If you wreck, you're out" rule.

I wonder how many concussions I have had over my lifetime as I have taken several hard hits on the noggin. I tried to go through the windshield of a car once and still suffer the consequences of it today so I am glad head injuries are getting more ink. I hope they don't go overboard with it and a car that spins and taps the wall requires the driver to exit the car.

I've probably had half-dozen. Used to attempt to knock trees out of the woods they grew in. Few over-the-bars that definitely rung my bell.
