A big congrats to Team Penske for another win and mega congrats to Ryan Blaney for his first win and I hope he has many more. Kyle did all he could to hold him off but it wasn't meant to be but the 18 team will figure out how to put a complete race together and get a win very soon.
 
That Yota ran out of legs leading all of those look at me laps. The blocking looked really bad because the 18 was so slow at that point. The race came from the 4. One little mistake but Blaney drove a perfect race. Good stuff, Harvick raced him clean which is more than can be said for Kyle Damn Busch.
 
What a great way to earn your first. Tons of adversity, and two huge battles at the end. Kids gonna be around for a long time.

He's basically his dad with a solid chance at a great career. If you enjoyed NASCAR underdogs in the mid-90's to early-2000's, you should be very excited about this kid.

unlike John Hunter who seems to ignore everything his dad tells him, It looks like young Blaney is listening to his dad and the veterans of the sport. John Hunter is really close to the Stephen Wallace racing career when it comes to stupid expensive moves on the race track (that is coming out of dad's pocket)

Stephen Wallace is a bonehead anyway. He used to attend Hargrave Military Academy as a kid. He broke a bunch of windows, got caught, and Rusty flew in on the chopper to pay for the damage. Rusty wasn't too happy.

Skoal is well aware of who Blaney drives for and the working relationship between Penske and Wood Brothers. Roger Penske has commented at length about his admiration for Wood Brothers Racing and what they bring to the partnership.

Yep, I think I just made it official, Blaney will take the place of Stewart on my Favorite 4 's list.
I like his attitude and demeanor. I finally get his sense of humor. Oh , and he is a good wheelman.

Why do you find it so damned hard to give just a tiny bit of credit to the Wood Brothers Pete? Of course Penske is helping them..... And I am damned glad...... But...... it is still Wood Brothers racing on the entry form...... just give them this little bit of credit and get over the Penske adoration for a few minutes........

I might jump on JJ's bandwagon.
Who knows maybe Carl will be back.

If DP is gone ,Stenhouse might inherit.
I was there for his first win so I am
somewhat attached.
 
I finally got to watch the last segment of the race - we had a really busy weekend. Man, that was great. So cool to see the 21 win a race like that - a pure, unquestionable win by a great driver. I said last week in a playoff thread that I would be surprised if they were able to get a win before the playoffs began but man, was that wrong. Great job by the 21 team - that was fantastic.

I have no problem with the Wood Bros organization or giving them credit for preparing the car. Once that car leaves Penske they do all the adjustments, body messages and from what I have read, Penske and the Wood Bros do their own engine set ups ups. As we know HMS sends a man with every engine for that. That way they can control any team from out running JJ. "-)
The reason I posted that is some on here don't bother to read anything and so they make foolish remarks or ask dumb questions like is Blaney going to be a Penske driver when he already is. I am not putting the Wood Bros down at all. Not many teams can unload a car faster than they do. Also Blaney's CC is the same fella that kept Penske's Xfinity cars in Victory lane against JGR Toyota.
