CONGRATS JOEY!!!

At Richmond Saturday night, Logano went head-to-head with three drivers that have totaled six career Cup championships. He beat them all, navigating through some of the toughest and closest multi-car racing the sport has seen in some time. To cap it off, he won going away with a bigger-than-it-sounds 0.946-second victory over Jeff Gordon.

It was masterful driving, just like he exhibited two races prior when a late caution stacked the odds against him at Texas. It was the Logano that Mark Martin saw all those years ago. It was the Logano that JGR didn't quite have the patience to wait for.

Now, Logano has won three times in the sport's last 22 races. Only Kevin Harvick (four wins) has more in that period.

The Joey Logano we were told to expect is finally here. Might it be time to think about inscribing those Sprint Cup trophies again?

Masterful driving? All he did was keep to the inside lane while his teammate shoved Kenseth out of contention for him  It was a good finish but journalism sure can make luck look like championship caliber skill

Err, Logano made the pass on Matt that Gordo couldn't pull off for 2 laps, and he passed Gordon to do it. What did Gordon do? Run in to the back of the 2 car and almost wreck the 2 fastest cars on the track.

Hater. Lol I wonder if Joey will pass Jeff AGAIN for his next win? Seems he's the easiest to get by late in the race... I hope he does well next week too :D Until it counts of course.. then its time to choke.... but hey maybe its not his fault..... maybe its yours

:D

Gordon didnt even touch Brad. When he came up he took the air off his spoiler. The only reason Logano got by Gordon is because Gordon got checked up after trying to make it 3 wide with Kenseth and Keselowski, Not taking anything away from Logano, but the article made is seem as though Logano just drive by all of them because he is already the new champion.

The point is... the "masterful driving" was when Joey went low and jeff didn't... Jeff could have taken the line Joey did and he didn't he got behind the 2 and Joey wet low right by him.

Look right at 0:58.... if jeff stayed low like Joey did... he could have won... also it looks to me like Jeff did get into Brad.. its hard to say though.

Lol, As another poster said earlier, Joey can thank Brad for that win. Gordon had to check up because he slid up the track trying to dive bomb into the turn to pass the 20. He checked up so to not spin out Kenseth, and Logano took advantage of Jeff's slowed momentum. As the 22 got under the 20, the 2 car shoves Kenseth out of the way and then rubs doors with the 24 and then takes another shot at the 20 off the exit, killing all of their speed allowing the 22 to pull away out the corner and onto the straight and into the next turn. From then on it's just too little too late for anyone to catch the 22. Joey is in the right place at the right time no doubt

You don't win championships in April. Put it back in your holster Sliced.

Well that's just good team work.... Brad knew he wasn't going to win and wasn't going to let Kenseth win after all that blocking... Joey made the best move and Brad helped him... Theres nothing wrong with that. Its not all because of Brad... You have to put yourself in position to capitalize.

Im not writing joey in for the cup. I really don't think he'll get it.... but Im becoming more confident that its a possibility. I said before the year started im hoping for 3 wins... Although I have been surprised hes doing so good so I expect him to do better than I hoped now.

Oh. People helping each other out. Nothing wrong with that

You know whats pretty cool imo... All of Joeys wins have come at different track types. 2.5 mile 2 mile, 1.5 mile, 1 mie, and 3/4 mile.. a win at phoenix and Bristol would give him a win at every track length. Then its just a road course win and a plate win and hes got em all.

Don't know why he wouldn't be a serious contender. Just need to get in the Final 4. I have said before that I would put my money on Penske before I would Delana's wife. Having said that, the year is young, and when you look at the new rules with the emphasis on winning, Kyle Busch is a 'Dega win from being the equal of Joey statistically with a car that is 1/2 of the Penske at the moment.

Its not necessarily that I don't think he can. I just don't want to put that kind of expectation up there....yet. Obviously I know at this point he probably does look like one of (if not the) top contender(s) but like you said you don't win a championship in April. I've gone from being happy if Joey got a top 10 to winning 2 of the last 3 races and having one of the fastest cars each week... Im glad to be happy about that right now. I'll worry about his chances for the cup in September.

Gordon probably could have pulled the pass off had the other 3 cars been in a wad like they were when Logo made the pass.

And as far as Gordon "almost wrecking" Brad, Logo did as much to Gordon a few weeks back going for the win.
It's called hard racing. No harm no foul.

Gordon hit the 2 just as he was getting inside the 20 and almost turned him in to the 22. Sorry you missed it. Gordon moved up AFTER Logano made the inside move. :p

Why? The 2 and 22 were clearly the fastest cars at the end, and by a lot. The 20 and 24 had nothing for them, other than some cheap shots.

Seriously? What race were you watching? Matt gave Gordon enough of the bottom because the 2 was the real threat. Poor Jeff couldn't even make the pass while 2 other cars raced hard. Even Jeff said his car didn't have the speed at the end, yet you make excuses?

The 18 was on new tires and closing in pretty fast, also.

That was the game changer right there. If #2 get's by #20, he's gone.

Excuses? lol

No, I'm not Brad and fans so there are no excuses here.

The only cheap shot I saw was after the checkered flag fell when poor Brad break checked the 20 because he was mad. lol

Brad is the new Denny. :(
