Congrats Kyle Larson...

First of Congrats to Kyle! Seems like a stand up dude and a hell of a driver. Well deserved!

Sorry @DanicaFreak but I think SHR would be smart to try to get him into the 10 car in 2018. The only reason I think SHR could get him over Hendrick is his relationship with Tony.

SHR would be smart to get any real driver in the 10 car....but that's never gonna happen so it's not even worth discussing.

I will be pissed if Rick lets Kyle get away from him. Especially with Kasey Kahne being such a poor driver. He's a sunk cost at this point Rick should cut bait this offseason.

Anyway Congrats Kyle! He's awesome. I'm so happy he won.

Also funny we didn't see Bifflefan around today.

Been here all day and it's DaBiff ;). Also Kyle isn't leaving Gannassi, he feels obliged to chip because he gave him his big break when all the other teams wouldn't pony up and he's had fast cars this season.

I can't wait until Larson gets a real ride.
Me either. Would make sense putting him in 10 to provide some youth for their future. Harvick and Busch are going to be on backside soon as well as Boyer. They need someone to slide in when they start slowing down.

I'd like to see Penske get him. He'd compliment them and be there to step in when the 2 gets old. The guys there would provide some good mentor ship, more than he's get from Harvick and Busch it would seem.

Gannassi is a second tier team, can we quit pretending they're RPM or Front Row Motorsports? Larson and McMurray have been lightning fast all summer and have outpaced Hendrick most weeks. Gannassi is as wealthy as any of the owners and if he puts in the necessary resources this team can be a weekly contender. Gannassi made big changes at the start of the year and Larson has been a race winning car since Kanas in April. Besides, if we haven't learned anything it's better to be the top dog on a second tier team, then a 2nd or 3rd option maybe even fourth on a Hendrick team. Ask Kasey Kahne. Chip also lets Kyle run dirt which is extremely important to him and Larson might be able to run Indy someday, no other owner other then Penske presents that option. Larson will be at Gannassi for most of his career if not all. He's a super nice kid and all about loyalty

remember every driver that has left chip for a "better" team has ran worse. casey mears, jmac come to mind. Those guys barely had a ride in cup once they left chip they were so bad at other teams. I think chips cars are pretty decent and I don't think Larson is the next jimmie johnson. probably about as good as clint bowyer when he was at RCR.

and YES I do think its better to be the top driver at a lesser organization than to be 3rd or 4th fiddle in a top tier team. KK was the top driver at evernham look how much better he did there. lagano was terrible at gibbs. I think these teams move and develop packages to suit the best drivers they have on the team. if your the 3rd of 4th driver on the team your basically having to be fast with stuff that your other teammates are running.

He is in one now. With a win under his belt he will probably do much better. It also took his "new" CC awhile to get him to quit racing desperate and start racing smart. Of course that still needs work.

I, for one love what Larson does in the car. Other drivers drive scared, or Angry. Larson dirt tracks it. Watch the last restart carefully. Most drivers are done done scrubbing their tires when the green gets close...Larson was swinging left and right when the green was out! Love how he drivers and he is becoming a fav.

The 2 car helped Kyle win for sure, The 21 messed it up for the 24. Pushing with that few of laps remaining ought to be outlawed. Let them decide it on their own. if they spin too much a 2nd or 3rd row car wins. Just wanted to see a closer race the last few laps between the young guys. Good race though, happy for Kyle, but really wanted Chase to win. Everyone plans for very few cautions because Michigan is usually a gas mileage race. The last few years cautions are becoming quite regular. The lap 20 competition caution is flat out retarded. Whats next? a competition red flag so the drivers can get a drink of water and a sandwich?

Chip Ganassi Racing has 12 wins since 2001 including Kyle's win. I'm a fan of his and I would like to see him on one of the top tier of teams that have a proven record of success.

From the replay, it looked like the 2 and 21 both bumped the back of 42 and 24 just before the restart hence seeing both of them fishtail a little bit. But it looks like it gave Larson a boost and gaining a football field length ahead of Elliot.

The second row has no choice but push as they can not change their line until after the S/F line

Overall, great race for the new guys. I would really like to see more of this. Except for the "clean air ****" . Once in the lead, only a caution can fook it up for the leader--with a crummy re-start of course..
k boosh spinning out was a bonus!!!!

You and I must have watched different races. Or maybe you are offering a (weak) rationalization for why your guy got beat. I saw faster cars pass the leader multiple times yesterday. When the leader was fastest, then the slower guy in second couldn't pass. Isn't that how racing is supposed to work?

On that final restart, Larson drove away from Kez because he was faster than Kez. Elliott drove by the 2 because he was faster than the 2, and he couldn't catch the 42 because he wasn't faster.

There's only one other team that can offer Larson what Ganassi can.

******** that would be a powerhouse lineup. Make it happen Roger and you'll be set on drivers for the next 20 years.

Lol sound it out
I come up with nothing throw me a bone here. or something that rhymes with it.

With only 11 laps left, only the leader has clean air. After 20 laps and the leader starts going thru lapped traffic, then the 2nd place guy can/might catch up, maybe. had the 24 not spun as much as the 42, he would have had the advantage of clean air. Even if the 42 was faster.. thats what i wanted to see, the 24 jumping out and the 42 trying to run him down, he had a faster car and that would have been fun to see it play out. close racing is exciting-- I for one would have thought an inside row start with a "vet" in 3rd spot would have been the better choice. Outside row 2 was another very hungry potential 1st time winner. Whoever was 1st into turn one was going to win the race. A 1.5 second lead in 10 laps makes it less exciting. "My guy" is either one. First time winners are fun to watch. The 48 had the field covered but his car didnt 'come in" until 10 to 15 laps of running, then another 10 to catch the leader, that and a botched pit stop. Kez helped the 42 win and Kyle even acknowledged it.( you did see that interview didnt you?) The 21 turned the 24 slideways too much and, well we all know the results. It was still a fun race to watch, mainly because of 2 young guys running at the top.
Hot tires and 850 hp makes it hard not to spin the tires @ 55 mph, as both these young guys found out.

After I thought about it, thats kinda what I came up with too.. Ahh where would this world be without ebonics? I axe you that.
