Congrats Kyle Larson...

His car colors are kinda, well not manly if you get my drift. But it looked better covered in confetti in victory lane.
 
Let's ease up on calling him the next superstar. There are plenty of drivers who got one win but never "made it."
 
I've been as critical of him as any, but I said if he won a cup race I'd shut up and he did, thank god lol. But I think a lot of the hate or dislike for him comes from the media propping him up constantly as the next big thing when the results hadn't come yet, and by some of his obnoxious fans on social media, who always blame other drivers or Ganassi for his problems when some of his issues have been of his own doing. I'm just thrilled he's finally a cup winner and will enjoy this win for a while, but I also think we shouldn't get carried away and expect a bunch more wins or a championship, like some people on Reddit are saying lol. I've been very optimistic by the increased speed Ganassi has shown the past few months but they've always had their moments of speed, they can just never keep it consistently. I do think Larson is a better fit here then a lot of people realize. He's getting the top resources for a second tier team, there's no guarantee he'd get the top equipment anywhere else. The only team that seems to spread the resources evenly is Gibbs/ Furniture Row

The thing with Larson IMO is that even when he hasn't sealed the deal or has faded late he showed over the first 3 years of his career that he could race with anybody. You can't teach fast.

Keeping the car together and bringing it home is a skill that can be learned. He's starting to piece it together.
