Congratulations Jr and DPK!

His wins are always over sensationalized. Every time he wins or puts top 5s together the media starts talking about "this being his championship year". Honestly, its uber annoying. Ive always thought it a shame that our sport's most popular driver is lacking in the talent department. Gets a win every 5 or so years and this is his first season with 2+ wins in 10 years... and today he he got extremely lucky. Never the less this is just my opinion.

Its always fun to have your driver win & my speculation of Jr doesnt stop me from wishing Jr & his fans the best of times. Bragging rights for another week & here's to a fun rest of the season

To add to your points it isn't like Junior has been horrible and getting his stride back. Yes he has lacked in the Win department, but he has be a constant front runner for a few years now.

Nah, Junior's been pretty darn consistent for the last few years, as Jeffrey pointed out a couple of times. He was up there in points all year last year and was in position to win a few races, just like in 2012. He would have finished much better in the points in 2012 had he not missed two races in the Chase with a concussion.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but come on man, you and all the Gordon fans get extra hyped whenever Gordon wins and I don't complain about that. I congratulate him and you guys and let you have your fun. Be gracious and let us Junior fans have our fun this week.

Thanks to all for the kind words. What a great day yesterday was for Jr and his fans. Was listening to the race on the portable radio at the beach but headed back to the RV to watch the closing laps. Always nice to get a win and even better to have two!

Sure, you congratulated him, but not before getting in your standard cheap shots. I don't even do that when Gordon wins. That's all I was saying.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not butthurt. Just explaining where I was coming from.

All I did was list stats :lol2: If his record is bad enough where talking about his stats are "cheap shots" maybe he should race for better results every week, every year. :idunno:

Really?

The only stat that I'm seeing is the bolded. The rest is just the standard "Junior can't drive and is overhyped" chatter.

I guess my beef is that your criticism of Junior's performance would have held water three or four years ago, but today, not so much. I dunno if you've noticed, but he actually doesn't run midpack every week anymore. He has consistently been running up towards the front for a couple of years now and has been in position to win plenty of times. And yes, he was very fortunate that Brad screwed up at the end of the race yesterday, which he admitted, but Brad was very fortunate at Vegas too, and Junior has lost his fair share of heartbreakers, so it's all good.

For the most part, all you can do in NASCAR is try to put yourself in position to win and let the chips fall where they may. Junior and his team have been doing just that for a while now. It's just that yesterday, and at Daytona, the circumstances worked out in his favor.

not a Jr fan in any way, but he has been running a lot better the last couple of years. Rick did say he was going to put more resources into getting Jr better. he moved Gordon into shop with Kasey and Jr into shop with Jimmie. don't know why but it seems like when Jr wins, it so much more than when any other driver wins, maybe it because he has the most fans, i don't know. but a real fan is suppose to stick with their driver whether they're winning or not. so i say congrats to his real fans, enjoy it.
