Congratulations, Kenseth

I thought you were talking about him saying the chevy's have 1600 HP or whatever it was,

I don't know - his interviews are always strange when he loses. He always accuses someone else of having an advantage just like the other Cup regular that dominates in Nationwide. And it's funny because most of the races Kyle wins in the minor leagues and in his Late Model, he has a ridiculous advantage over everyone else.

Kyle was talking about Harvick pushing Kenseth on that final restart, as in 2 engines working together/1600 HP.

And Kyle could've gotten help on the restart if he wasn't playing games with everyone else. Kenseth and Harvick just went, like you're supposed to. And they worked together. Kyle was playing games. And if you're behind him when he's playing games on a restart, you don't know when he's going to go and can't anticipate it because he might restart late, he might slow down at the last second so he can take off. That stuff works 99% of the time for Kyle. This time, it bit him in the ass because Kenseth and Harvick were ready and Kurt wasnt.

Kyle got what he deserved.

He even laid back at one point so the others wouldn't take any advantage of the new rule.

Funny thing is that it was him that brought that up in the NASCAR meeting. lol what a sore loser.

I think he was referring to Kenseth getting a draft from Harvick but it was still strange - came off as whining.
That was the reason.

Whining, I don't know. It sounds more like a guy that was pissed he didn't win. I'm not a Kyle fan but I like that attitude. Need more drivers like that.

Yep. He was laying back each time, trying to slow everyone down, and then he'd jump. Dale Jarrett called him out on it, quite vocally I might add, a few times. Nobody's going to help you on a restart if you hit the brakes or slow down coming to the line. Kenseth is money. He's not going to get fooled by Kyle twice.

Part of it might've also been that he was trying to get another driver to jump the restart. Another classic Kyle move that's bit him in the ass several times. You're not going to play someone like Matt Kenseth with that though. Kenseth's just too smart for that.

The better driver won.

I still think Kyle will win the championship but I would love to see Kenseth win it. He is the most underrated driver in all of NASCAR. Man wins a championship and TWO Daytona 500s and still don't get any respect. I'd love to see him win it all and finally get the credit he deserves as an elite driver.

I remember Dale Jarrett mentioning how Kyle jammed up the cars on a restart and that nascar may have something to say about it.

But when they replayed the restart it actually showed that he didn't jam up the restart. lol

Kyle often does just that. At the same time, Kyle is the best there is at restarts. He got beat straight up by the Peyton Manning of NASCAR and he couldn't just deal with that.

One thing that will/could keep Kyle from a championship is his attitude.

I think his attitude will help him this time. For the most part, he hasn't acted like a sniveling little crybaby this year and he hasn't gone out and done stupid stuff out of random. He's calmed down a lot but he still wants to win every time he's on the track. He seems like a somewhat happier person but wouldn't you be happy if you woke up next to Samantha Busch? :growl: You have to win races in the Chase. Kyle will put his emphasis on winning races.

I don't like this Nationwide stuff though. I think that's a huge distraction and, if he loses the championship, that will probably be the reason why. Time and effort put in Nationwide and Trucks that could be spent on the Cup car.

Matt is definitely an elite driver but I don't see the need to rag on Kyle....both of them are elite.

Ragging? I said I think Kyle will win the championship because he has the attitude for it. How's that "ragging"?
Lol...yeah I must of just responded to that post after reading all about the last restart in Chicago, Kenseth, Harvick......Kyle, Kurt,....with Kyle playing games...... sorry dude

I agree, Matt does not get the credit he deserves. I must admit I never really gave him credit until I started following him this year. He is awesome. He's up on the wheel when he needs to be and easy on equipment when he doesn't need to be up on the wheel. At the same time, he fights for every position and for the rightness of everything. Last night Kyle beat them out of a pit-stop, he didn't just let it slide, he said something like "OK, guys, we need to be perfect here." Same meaning as a guy like Kyle or Kurt but just more to the point instead of a bunch of insults. If someone is not lined up correctly on a restart, even if it's for 25th position he rallies for someone to get it fixed. He understands how important different parts of a team are as well. He may suggest that they make a track-bar adjustment or whatever but he will never ask them if they did it or second guess it. He will simply tell them what the car is doing. He does his job and lets them do theirs. And lastly, when something goes horribly wrong, he gets a bit mad but then he gets back up on the wheel again. Smart driver.

As opposed to Kyle who is a very talented driver but he just loses his cool too easily. Last year, they missed the chase because Kyle got pissed and gave up. They could have pulled it off as they only needed one position. Kyle pulled over on one restart and let a bunch of cars go by just because he was throwing a tantrum over Dave Rogers making a bad call. It was all Kyle that messed that up. That was the day I stopped following Kyle and considering him my driver.

Kyle is better this year because of Matt's influence.

If the #18 was expecting a push from the #78 he should've dropped the hammer and went - which is exactly what the #29 & #20 did.
