Having done one single iRacing private session with Corey Heim taught me everything I need to know about him.
He surrounds himself with bums and trash cans like Kevin Reed, Jr. This is the most famous that bum will ever be because nobody knows who he is. Look him up. One of Corey Heim’s best friends.
You can judge a man by his company. Corey Heim has been driving in Trucks for what seems like a lifetime and he has mastered how to drive that ONE particular vehicle as long as he clearly has the best Truck in the field. Cool. That doesn’t mean he is a generational talent.
Corey Heim will never be on the same level as the guys dominating Cup right now. And once they’re done, he will be overtaken by the guys that come after him. Larson, Blaney, Elliott, Tyler B. Reddick and William Byron will dominate the next decade. After that, it’ll be Gibbs, Hocevar and Zilisch.
Heim is already blackballed from JGR and he isn’t even in Cup yet. I used to think that was an indictment on Ty Gibbs but clearly Ty is a great judge on character.
Corey Heim, if you’re reading this screw you. My first drink of the evening was met with fantasy of Riley Herbst keeping you out of the Cup series forever. I hope you rot away in Legacy equipment for a few years and go the route of Erik Jones but without the wins. Speaking of which, Erik Jones deserves a better ride.
