Anyone else read this article? It could be interesting. Logano out another Busch in. Who knows?

Joe Gibbs is one of the most respected men in sports, so when he uttered these words on Tuesday—“We love Kurt (Busch)”—the immediate reaction was one of shock and disbelief.

As in, “What the heck is he thinking?”

That’s what nearly everyone thought when Gibbs declared that he might consider hiring NASCAR’s most controversial driver for his Sprint Cup team next season.

Could be. But, then again, there could be something there. Stranger things have happened. Right now I hard pressed to think of something stranger that that though.

The Busch brothers used to despise each other, wasn't long ago they would barely talk to each other. Having both of them on the same team would attract sponsors? I think not! Just when you think both of them might be turning the corner with their anger issues, one or the other does something to reafirm that they haven't changed. Both of them are very talented drivers, I don't think anyone can deny that, but add them to the mix with Hamlin too, like Andy said, is just asking for trouble. I can see Hone Depot giving the ultamatum to Gibbs first time Kurt acts up, I don't think they want to go down that road again like they did with Stewart.

Wonder if Kurt's agent has thrown that out there to drum up some interest?

Joe may look at this as an opportunity to salvage Kurt's professional and personal life. Strong Christian people in these positions do not shy away from people like Kurt. They're drawn toward them because they want a shot at helping them turn around their life and career.

True, but has Gibbs really changed Tony or Kyle?;)

I think there's a good chance they'll have an open seat for him next year. Lagano hasn't performed and it's been rumored Home Depot isn't happy. Don't know how they'd feel with are ol' buddy Kurt behind the wheel though. I totally won't say he won't end up there cause I think it's a realistic possibility. I just don't know how it'll turn out. Wonder what Denny's response would be? 

He has changed Kyle enough for Kyle to really see that he has a problem. Toyota is dying for a cup championship, and having Kyle and Kurt competing for their first would probably be worth a $10 million signing bonus for Kurt.
I don't think Kyle has changed at all. He still pouts when he doesn't win, he is still the same guy. It will just be a matter of time before he does something stupid again, like the Hornaday incident. I don't really like saying that because I'd really like to see him win without any incidents, I think he is a hell of a driver. Just seems with both the Busch brothers when you think they have turned the corner they implode back to their old self, their track record speaks for itself.

I don't know how to explain this attitude thing to you . A driver who is upset , really pissed off , raging mad , when he loses is a good thing . I driver who is screaming mad at second place is a good thing . A driver who verbally abuses his pit crew when they don't put out 100% effort is a good thing . A driver that screams at his crew chief when the guy gives him a crappy car that won't turn ,is a good thing . A driver that can take a twentieth place car and put it in the top ten is a good thing . A diver that dive bombs three wide into the first turn to put a crappy car into the race lead is a good thing . Kurt is an a hole , but he hates to lose and anyone who thinks that he can't win this weekend with that car and that crew is crazy.

A good thing for when you are trying to win? -Yes

A good thing when you are trying to keep/attract a major corporation who will spend $25,000,000 dollars a year on you and is deathly afraid of having their logo on Youtube while their driver drops 75 f bombs from a fan's video? -Not so good.

I bet Home Depot wish they had Stewart now instead of burnt toast.[/quot
I think both were at the point where they needed a change. Loganos' Depot adds sure arent' as good as Tonys' were and Tony gave HD much more exposure on Sundays.

A bird from the hand equals two egos in a Busch...Logono hasn't lived up to the potential, and Kurt and Kyle have made up. Makes good sense that Kyle has urged Mr' Gibbs to look past his brother, who is a combo and I think a lot worse than Smoke and Shrub combined. If anyone can fix Kurt, it would be Gibbs. Both of them idiots have their problem moments, but the sob's can drive. They would have been fun to watch in the Yarborough/Allison era

but as my dad says, where would Joe find a crew for kurt? They wouldn't be on the same radio channel as him for a million bucks. Probably be hesitant to be in his pit box for 5 mil. And his crew chief would take all the sponsorship money...

I suspect Home Depot is expecting better results than Logano is providing and Gibbs knows that you have to do what you can to keep any sponsor - much less one as big as Home Depot.

Would they want to be associated with Kurt Busch? Good question.

Maybe JD knows of an armed, Christian militia that could provide crewman that would scare Kurt straight.

Granted they can drive but neither one will or can back their crazy antics up out of the car. Those good old boys would of completely destroyed both of them like they did some little known or obscure drivers that acted like the brothers. I know, I was around.

^ Johali is right.

So if they'd grown up in the south and gotten mouthy or wrecked people they would have been murdered or "destroyed". Seems sensible.

Good ol boys are everywhere not just in the south. The K-BUs would not have survived ( career wise not dead Matt ) simply because they use their cars as weapons and run like a jack rabbit when its payup time. I truly would liked to have seen either one of them pull their crap on Fireball or Junior Johnson or any of the old drivers.

What does "Good ol boys" mean? Some think it means racist, sexist, violent and stupid. Some think it means something good. I guess it depends on who you ask and where they are from.

Lets see you named sexist, racist, violentist, and stupidist. My guess is that you're a "Goodolboyist".:D

I really have no opinion. I just hear the term used in both good and bad ways. Hell, I have probably been accused of all of those things due to my propensity for making jokes about stereotypes.

Do you have any funny 'good ol boy' jokes you could share with Johali?

This is what comes to mind every time someone says "Good ol boys"

Is see the term 'good ol' boy' in the context of the conversation. Since we're talking about nascar, I think of Jr Johnson, Yarborough, etc. If we were talking about banking, good ol' boy would make me think of suited pencil necks conspiring against the economy for their own gain.
