I'm not sure, but he has been checking up a lot behind Truex and another car. I saw him drop back and wait earlier too. Not his usual style. Maybe he is saving it for the end.
I haven't seen him try any slide jobs either. He was just clear of Newman for a few laps, but he didn't slide up to break his momentum.
