Not till Sunday but hey cars are on track today so why not start the thread. Stewart is saying he was so bad at Texas because they were trying stuff. Tony, don't try anything again.

Well they won't be wearing those goofy cowboy hats at this Texas race.:D

And they don't have the biggest a**hole in racing spouting off about how NASCAR needs to make rules changes to make the racing better, when it wouldn't actually matter because the racing at TMS will always suck regardless of the rules, field size, start and parks, points, money, car design and length of the race. They could take the old car and put it out there for 150 miles with no points or money for second and no S&P allowed and the racing would still suck.

they want to make it look more like Texas. ;) Sorry, I couldn't resist.

It seems that most drivers aren't happy about the idea of repaving any track.

It did wonders at Bristol, Darlington and Daytona. :sarcasm:

That first Darlington race with new pavement was pretty hard to stay awake for. I have a feeling I'll be getting a nice nap on Sunday though.

I expect to really enjoy the race on Sunday .I have no idea who will win or how they will do it. If I thought for one second that I wasn't going to enjoy it , I would not waste my afternoon watching Nascar. Why on earth would someone watch it just to go on line and tell folks on the forum that he is falling asleep and how terrible the racing is. Please...I beg you...find something else to do.

The only way to go is up this weekend.

Is anyone else watching qualifying? With the way guys ran the 'who can go slower' 1st practice, the pole run could be mid-pack today.

Those aren't fair comparisons, IMO. They did more to Bristol than just replace the concrete. They changed the whole track.

Darlington needed to be repaved. Yeah it was great seeing the seashells sticking thru the top of the surface and eating up tires but seriously, for better or worse, it was time.

Daytona and Talladega repaving? meh... Who cares?

BTW, Andy. Do us all a favor and go for a bike ride or something during tomorrow's race telecast - please!

The only thing he would be safe on is a bike made of NERF.The way he breaks stuff and they haven't made one of those yet.So I guess we stuck with him on Sunday.:D

No way he could stay away from posting on this BB during the race tomorrow. He'll be here spreading his misery throughout the event from green until long after checkered would be my guess.

That Strawberry BK car looked awesome on the track!

Go Sam Hornish Jr.!

Andy will be test driving his new unbreakable sled today..

Maybe we won't have to listen about manifolds, computer chips,etc.etc....Seems pretty indestructable to me. But, then again, we are talking about Andy...

Saw this and it probably couldn't be more true today.....

Taking the last several races at Kansas into consideration, drivers, just start saving fuel as soon as you wake up this morning.

LOL Prolly right! But I would rather see the outcome of a race determined by who can best monitor their fuel consumption than to see the outcome of a race determined by some Phantom Caution with 30 laps to go.

But that's just me...

It is going to be determined by something. Wether it is a pit stop , a caution flag ,an accident , a penalty , fuel mileage, parts failure , weather , ..something will happen .. and Andy won't like it. I'm looking forward to seeing which factors play into the outcome.

Maybe it'll be determined by the fastest car today - what a concept, huh?

Some interesting numbers leading into this weekends race.....

Earnhardt's streak I knew but Carl's..... I wouldn't have guessed.

Jimmie @ 13. That's gotta be sneaking up on some kind of record for him?

Winless streaks among 2011 Chase drivers

Driver, races without a win

Dale Earnhardt Jr., 136

Carl Edwards, 40

Kyle Busch, 20

Jeff Gordon, 18

Kevin Harvick, 17

Kurt Busch, 14

Jimmie Johnson, 13

Matt Kenseth, 6

Denny Hamlin, 5

Brad Keselowski, 3

Tony Stewart, 2

Ryan Newman, 1

Looking at that list I say Jimmie Johnson has the best shot at ending it, although it's not much of a streak, lol.

I'm looking for Keselowski's luck to change. Late front row restart at Vegas ends with fuel problems. A strong chance to finish 1st or 2nd at Martinsville ended in a mess. Running well in the top 10 at Texas, and it's fuel trouble again. Brad won on fuel at Kansas last year, and in the fall he placed 3rd on speed. He has a good chance today....with a little luck.

So what you're saying is as long as they can get fuel in the car he should have a great run? lol. I can't believe the fuel issues are still haunting this team.

Penske - Top organization. Racing powerhouse. Elite. Respected.

Penske is turning into an oxymoron.

It's not the first time Dodge has had issues with getting fuel from the tank to the intake. Remember the BS Marlin went through with Coors Light car on restarts? Probably completely different issues, however :)

I don't recall, but this isn't Dodge's problem. Teams design their fuel pickups themselves. What I find unbelievable is that nascar simplified things when they allowed up to 2 electric pumps inside the tank. I guess Penske was experimenting with a single pump system, for whatever reason.

I havn't had a chance to watch a cup race for the the past few weeks, but I am in Houston Tx planning on watching it today. I did get a chance to stop by Jr Motorsports and Penskes shops while I was in Charlotte. I didn't realize that they go back to their shops and reload between races as often as they do. They were loading and getting ready to leave for their Dallas race when I was there, and they said that they were coming back to their shop after the Dallas race to reload for the Kansas race. The driver that hauls Danica Patricks car invited me in to their shop and gave me a nice tour, and then we went up in to the lounge of her hauler and we sit down and shot the bull for a while. He also told me that they come back to the shop and reload after almost every race except a few on the west coast. He said they run team drivers on the haulers and they put about 80,000 miles a year on them. They get new trucks every two years. Heck I have only been back to our shop one time since the season started in eary Febuary. oops sorry I strayed a little off topic.

There is no such thing as luck.

Damn you're memory is good!!!  I don't know what the issue is for Penske on that. I don't know if it's getting the fuel in to the car, the pick up, to the intake or a variety pack. It sucks though, it's cost Brad big.
