Then why is everybody driving for one? I mean you know, the cream rises to the top. Did Jimmie Johnson get a massive gift with #7? Sure. Doesn't take away from the fact that he was a champion, again... Hamlin needs to win a championship. Luck has a little bit to do with it but comon... win a championship and it's a no brainer...

That was an endurance race for sure and Denny had himself in the right place at the right time to pull off a great win, and my hats off to that team and congrats to all of the Toyota fans for a one two finish. HMS got two in the top 10, so not a bad day considering everything that happened. This has been a full day of some really exciting racing.

My opinion Denny should have been champion and was in position to multiple times and couldn't close the deal. While he does tbh definitely have the stats to deserve to be in the HOF, his spot there should be solidified as one of sports’ all time great choke artists.

Also to add yes I understand he has come through in big races the 500 etc, but he has always choked in the championship race(s).

Post Fontana wreck with Logano changed Hamlin, IMHO.

For the better, I think he realized all the pettiness he showed in his years prior to that kind of subsided.
