Cup RACE thread --- Bristol dirt

The 9 is pretty fast after a few laps but has drawn the inside on literally every restart so his whole run is spent gaining back spots he's losing back there from that.

Track seemed to be one groove for the top 8 or so. Staying out might be big

As with the trucks, this is much more credible racing than it was last year. It's a delicate balance because of the low tolerance for mud, but these heavy cars need a tacky surface so that they aren't just limping around on an ice rink. This track prep will be pretty darn good over the full course of the race if the rain holds off.

How is it that every other dirt track in the country is able to make a choose cone work, yet nascar can't?

Alan is raising hell about that on radio now. “It’s embarrassing they can’t figure a choose out.”

Eddie: “oh, that’s simple. Do like they do at Bowman Gray and put a cone out.”

It's wild. Finally got the outside, gains 3 spots and now back to the bottom.

If luck wasn't involved...
