Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

A lot of drivers and teams with playoff race jitters so far.

Yet 5, 11 and 1 look solid and composed.

Most surprised by Kurt.

Larson said he wasn't much better that previous run.

Dude you just opened up a 6 second lead I think you were much better lol

Larson reporting struggling a lot in 3&4, but really apprehensive about any major adjustment to help that due to it effecting grip throughout the rest of the run.


Had em covered the last run, so this could indicate a further ass whooping, or minimal adjustments as the race goes on. Or a car that gets worse as they adjust.

And given how the leader has typically checked out (albiet not to the gap the 5 just had), I'm not yet ready to write this off as another Coke 600, Sonoma, or Nashville, which imo were the only 3 races where a 5 win seemed in little doubt.

We'll see. Solid race so far.

Only way he loses this is if the 11 somehow gets out in front of him.

5 reports struggling in 3&4, and gained a total of about 0.12 in 3&4 those first two times through those corners.

Then lost that back and then some the last two times through 3&4.

Kurt's hanging around.

Looks like Larson takes off for 2 laps..runs vulnerable pace for another 5+ laps, then gaps some more as tirewear kicks in.

Jmo but I I think that car looks a bit vulnerablle.

I’ll continue to beat this dead horse: how can anyone in charge at NBC listen to this and think Letarte and Burton are anywhere close to this good? Petty is awesome, and Jr is a completely different person when everyone around him isn’t hyperventilating in falsetto.

Also, 3 people in the booth is better than 4.

Hell, I’d prefer 2 commentators max.

well we know Steve isn't going anywhere JR said there's language in his contract that Steve has to be there and we know JR isn't going anywhere
