Cup RACE thread — Darlington

I didn't see much if any difference between last years race than this one. Both races were really good IMO. They ran slower this year because of less downforce, the car had to be harder to drive. September's race probably will be different after the teams get some of their data from this race.

4 for 6 for 45. Dominating
5 of 6 for Toyota, and could easily be 6 of 6.....but.....shhhhhhh......two Toyotas back to R&D next week....I am sure The Felon isn't happy. I anticipate some dyno-ing....and some more visits to Tech Center, and perhaps some dive planes and even a blower for the Chevys next week. ASS KICKING!!!!!! LFG!!!!!! LOVE THIS!!!!!!!

“Harder to drive” can’t possibly be a bad thing.

You should know better. You must like tasting your foot in your mouth when the Chevys figure out the new body.
Bring it. Your hot air isn't making them faster. When are you going to start crying about OUR horsepower advantage again? I've missed that.

Do you mean other than the lawsuit? If so, I'd appreciate you explaining. I'm not criticizing him, I just don't know what other effects he's had.

Thanks.
From my perspective, he brings a fresh, positive attitude. Not to mention, he and Denny have built a competitive team that adds diversity to the three teams that normally dominate the sport.

Reddick's best race of the year. An absolute master class.
I don’t like any 23 car given the owner, but not just this year. Maybe Reddick best run ever. Especially being Darlington. He used to kind of fall apart a lot when he had issues like that.

And beating Brad today. You could see the old Brad a bit today once he led all those laps and got some confidence built up with the moves he was making. The one that went head to head in the chase with JJ and won.

It's so much about the car when pavement racing, but Reddick dealing with all he had to deal with, it was way more about the driver and the crew.

Yes. I’m sure 2 years ago or even until about mid way through last year Reddikc would have basically given up on winning after all of those issues.
Let alone making it all up from the tail of the lead lap by passing everyone back ON THE RACE track. Again especially at Darlington. And he’s done that twice now this year and won (Atlanta).

But doing it at Darlington beats the hell out of doing it at a drafting track imo.

Seems like whenever NASCAR levels the field, the Chevy guys scream, “body!!!”
It often takes HMS a couple months into the season to really figure it out when they get a new one. They’ll get there. They always do.

When they do I still think they might be better than ever with the new one. It just takes time to get used to.

I hope 23XI is still kicking their ass when they figure it out.

BK led most of the day, I wish the 6 would have won today or any RFK car with the paint scheme tribute's that they were racing today. Didn't workout that way, fastest car got there by the end, but a great showing for them nonetheless. Be like the Biff regardless. And I am kind of stunned that Brad put on this type of drive with his leg the way it is, but in the driver's seat is home and comfy.

I definitely thought Buescher was going to be furious with Reddick for knocking him again, turned out that was a late call by the 17 box, how did Reddick not have some type of slowing damage on the nose from that, this car is a tank in the durability department.

Good racing today all around as it usually is at Darlington.
