Cup RACE thread --- Dover

I think it's fun. He's great entertainment

He reminds me of a mix of a young BK and Jaime Mac.

In turn, he's entertaining as hell. However, many will take note of it and will begin driving him the same way.

Jamie Mac huh? What's your reasoning for that? His personality?

Personality wise, yes. Also, Chastain has some pretty sublime car control and is just always exciting no matter the position.

Jaime was that same way, at least IMHO.

Reddick has had his hands full since Saturday. Rough weekend.
Goes back to the weak moment at Bristol. Reddick failed to see Briscos incoming slide job that cost him the race.

Then worstest all he failed to commence to dramatically throwing silhouetted haymakers in front of the camera. With the kinds of punching that beats
the everloving shid out all the air around Brisco and the 14 team.

In a moment that needs to happen in front of everybody as your team members skillfully and timely restrain and suspend you in the air. In a manner that still allows you to kick your feet freely bicycling the air along with your flailing arms as tyey continue with whipping the airazz.

Simultaneously huffing and a puffing " you betta hold me back" in Yosemite Sam voice.
Well, I dont want to be silly it doesn't have to be technically Yosemite Sam's voice but it has to be just as manly man at the moment all fierce and rough and tough.

That's when everybody will take note and feel it in the air and you will be on your way to greatness. Cause everybody knows to be cool and calm and level headed is a sign weakness and that cannot and will not be tolerated

The weakness doesn't care how well a man drives or his skill set. Such a man is cursed and the weakness was oozing through the Dirt in Bristol all the down to the concrete below, and the monster concrete felt Tylers weakness too. Thats why Reddicks wasn't contending for the win on the last lap and running in 30th postion 10 laps down.

The elders at RF saw all this coming immediately after the non air fight at Bristol.

For throwing a block on the last lap that's really nothing. I'm not really a fan of either, but I'm guessing it's the MTJ fans upset about this one.
MTJ screwed up by lifting and not sending the 1 there. Period. Can't blame Ross, I'd mirror drive on the white too. But I wouldn't cry if it got me walled.

Me waiting for the "tech is complete, 9 is the official winner" tweet:

Chase was phenomenal on restarts all day long
They had something special with their gearbox ratio imo. Chase got through 2nd and 3rd gear so freaking fast. Watch that restart he took the lead. Chase was at Chastain's rear quarter panel, and seemed to have accelerated a hair AFTER Ross, and he already had a nose on him going into one.

Alan did something smart there to make that thing a dragster on the restart. Credit to him. And Chase was on today to take advantage of that. Credit to both of them

Still doesn't change my take that Chase would be better suited without someone else though.

@AdoubleU24 @Dr_B_UNC ;) ;)

Lol. I do know early in the race the first time Larson got him on the front row restart he asked Alan what gear Larson was in to start. And the next time he was in that spot he was able to take the lead away. I imagine whatever he learned there he was applying the rest of the day.

Damn, so I can no longer push my narrative of Chase being the weakest driver at HMS.

Alan resurrected the legendary HMS traction control! 🤣

Just got a chance to watch the recorded race. Man, Kyle and Bowman got hosed on that Dinger yellow. Air is still king.

I missed most of the race, but I'm pretty stoked that my take on the gearbox seemed to be accurate

Larson got back around Busch after he was passed by him.

KB was just as good as the 48, it seems like he probably used his stuff up coming through the field.

The 48 and the 18 had to come through the same field.

Yep, that put the win in Chases lap. I think Bowman was going to have back-to-back Dover wins until that yellow came out.

I know you are disappointed, but Chase had to race his ass off to win that race, twice he had to match off with Ross Chastain, who is one of the better starters in the series and battle side by side for multiple laps with Chastain for the lead.

I'm not upset. Chase is one of my guys and I didn't mean he backed into the win at all. I just think Bowman and Busch were in a better position than Chase was until that yellow came out right after they pulled into the pits. Chase drove his azz off and deserved the win. Bowman still got a top 5 finish and Larson was right behind him so all's good.
