Cup RACE thread ---- Gateway 2023

I thought it was fine, felt a bit long even on DVR but it wasn’t horrible. Sometimes on this forum you’d think half the users are replaying the 2008 Brickyard 400. Gateway is just a technical track where it’s gonna take a while to make a pass on someone. But more power and less downforce wouldn’t hurt, make it tougher to out the power down off these paperclip corners.

I like Gateway much better than the new Phoenix but variety is variety with these 1-1.25 mile tracks as well

Logano said the brake problems could have come from the brakes cooling to quickly instead of being too hot. I think he has a point, they all exploded going down the straight, not under braking in the corners.

They seem to get into the herd mentality who can pick apart the most outlandish B.S. mode lol. Some are quite good at that sort of thing. The life of the pity party. I was glad for the delays, got to watch the indy's race at MoTown, that was a good one.

I don't know man - F1 is experiencing a boom because of a Netflix reality show that exposed that. And the NBA seems to thrive on people being fans of individual players and not teams (look at how LeBron James has fans that follow him from team to team).

A driver centric series can work if you have compelling drivers. NASCAR grew on the backs of personalities from the 90s and early 00s.
I know a guy who jumped from being a Pats fan to a Bucs fan, all because Brady left, even tho he was a Pats fan before Brady. Like I get wanting to see certain people do good(I cheer for alot of former Bulldog players, as well as was hoping to see Matt Ryan do good as a Colt) but I’ll always cheer on my Falcons, Bulldogs, and Braves first and foremost. Because those are my teams ride or die.

Nascar isn't as simple as you are trying to make it. You have two choices in stick n ball, the player or the team, the fields are all the same, the rules are the same, it's a simple game, the equipment is simple and all the same. They have a whole 100 years of TV coverage Max, all at slow speed, more timeouts than a person can count. Where is the similarity? None of the above applies to racing.
Actually in baseball, the fields aren’t all the same. They come in different shapes and sizes. They are some parks where a home run would stay inside the park at parks. Then you have different type of alls at those parks.

What's next, they have different bats and cleats lol.

It’s too bad they’re trying to kinda be the same more and more in MLB now. They should do a better job of pointing out baseball nuisances a bit more on ESPN.

Yeah, I hope we don’t get to a point where they all are just carbon copies. I love seeing the unique shapes, sizes, and distances. Even stuff like The Green Monster at Fenway is amazing.

I’m just saying that baseball fields, unlike most other sports, aren’t all the same. The field of play of them are all slightly different.
Now this is going to look like a weird reply lol, since what it’s a reply to got deleted. This is why deleting post is so dumb. Hell the post of SOI that was deleted isn’t even bad. Ridiculous.

I had no idea just how bad Austin Dillon’s season has been until I looked. He’s 30th in points and ahead of these full-time drivers:

Chase Briscoe (after the biggest points penalty we’ve seen)
Noah Gragson
Ty Dillon

Yikes. His worst season ever so far.
Kyle Busch is making Pop-Pop's Grandson look ordinary but anyone that watches this show weekly knew that already. Its striking to see play out in real time sure, but Austin's accomplishment this season was reaching out Kyle to sign him onto the family team.

The answers to this tweet sounds like they would be players in the R-F's race thread lol.

one of the better ones from the tin foil hat crowd.

Remember when people thought Reddick was a generational talent succeeding despite “bad equipment?”

KFB has improved upon his JGR performance. Austin is just that bad.
