Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

These past couple years make it worth it for sticking by Truex all this years. Always knew he could get it done, just needed the car. He finally has a car that he can get it done with.

Doofball Hamlin always sticking his nose in there. How many times is that he's been involved in a crash in the last few laps? A million? I know Kurt came down on him, but Hamlin is the worst for that crap. I think Hamlin and Kurt cost me $250. If Truex, Harvick, and Johnson would've finished 1,2,3(any order), the money was mine and it was looking that way.

So nascar has an issue with post race swerving but turns a blind eye to destroying parts of the car during victory celebration?

He's definitely getting out at the right time. They are out to lunch. Dale just doesn't seem right. The whole thing is ****** up at the moment. It sucks to watch really.
Kinda sucks to see. The 88 team has been 2009-2010 levels of bad this year.

I personally think he's just doing it this year to leave on his own terms, and leave healthy. Winning a race would be icing on the cake for him. Just my opinion from the couch, high percentage I'm wrong. But his team has been crap, I don't think Ives has done him any favors either.

I think he has given up on Greg, its just not working and he's just trying to make due until the end of the year.

Agreed. At this point I just want one more win. Don't know where or how it happens. Hell at this point a top 10 would be nice.

You summed up what I'm trying to say. It reminds me of Smoke last year, just run well enough and get out with your health. Really makes what Gordon did in 2015 all the more impressive

If you would have told me at the start of last year Jr would only have 7 top tens by the 2017 All-Star race I would have called you a liar. I though those 09-10 days where long gone, but they seem to be back
Ugh. Lance Mcgrew.

I hope he gets it at Daytona. But a complete race with good pit strategy and good pit stops with a top 10 would feel like a win

I'm going back to dega in october and hopefully he does good there. I hope he gets a win there even if it is his last.

If he wins in two weeks when I go to charlotte, I will be completely satisfied, I don't care if he ever finished another race, seeing him win in person is all I want. Not a championship, just to see him win in person

I was at Michigan in 2012 when he broke his 4 year winless streak, it was absolutely crazy in the stands when he took the checkered.

Had that pleasure when he won at Chicagoland in 2005, pretty awesome.

That is an amazing feeling trust me. Saw it back in 2004 at Talladega. So happy that I got to see him win in person during his career.

I've had my driver crash while leading...

So much for giving it 100%;)

Does anyone have a link to Danica's post race interview?

Logano's interview starts just before the 17 minute mark while Danica starts at about the 19 minute mark.

These interviews actually happened shortly after the wreck, not post race.

The difference in the emphasis of each driver's comments is striking.
