Cup RACE thread --- Martinsville.

Was this streak longer than Elliott's? I have to believe because of the longer schedule?

Boring race. Helluva good job by Clint Bowyer and the 14 team. They kicked ass the second half. Earned that long awaited win.

Good job by the 88 and 9 to rally at end. Top 10’s after struggling 3/4 of the race.

I didn't think they had anything, but 3 Chevy's made it into the top ten. Came on strong at the end
 
Congrats to Clint! But...the winning car in a Cup race is advertising the car's owner and doesn't have an outside sponsor? o_O
 
Happy for Clint but that was a snooze fest. Sad to see the short tracks turn into Pocono snoozers...never want to see people get hurt but this is getting so hard to watch! :(
 
Geesh...one race that was tame. I like wrecks and pissed off drivers too but the racing was good. Just clean for some reason...

what do you think of the 4s brake check again?glad it was the 11 and not one of my guys.

It hasn’t been just this race though. We need to put some fire back into this sport. It was incredible when I first started watching 17 years ago. I never want to see people get hurt but it’s hard to stay focused on a race anymore. I’d love to see some of the younger guys get to race the way the drivers used to be allowed to. It is still fun seeing those kids doing well so early on in their cup careers but how long will they last?

So what is the deal with that now? I sort of remeber it being outlawed or whatever, and you absolutely could not stand on the roof. Can't remember if it was points, or fines, or what though, but definitely remember it being a no-no.
 
If that is all there is to talk about is if Clint will get in trouble for being on the roof. That tells ya something.

I think Mayfield was excessive jumping on his roof, almost to the point of shaking his pill bottle out of his uniform. I think they came up with some rules after that.
 
All the hendrick cars finished in the top 20, that's great

Hendrick is not in trouble, they have 2 new drivers and a new car, give em some slack
 
Observations from the track.
1 I could not believe how many times a driver let the car behind pass for position. Even during the last stage. It looked like the amateur class at VIR at times.
2 Whatever happened to drivers pushing it to the limit? Most of the field didn't even have as much as a Donut on the car.
3 I love Martinsville and nothing is better than a double on Monday.
4 The hot dog lines were way to long today.

I stood in line for dogs from the checkered of the truck race and just made it back to my seats for the anthem haha

Harvick did that to 11. The epitome of class. And funny Denny thinks he can ever say something when he dumps a possible first time winner not even a year before. Lol
 
Now Denny, I want you to find the hottest headed driver in the series and go to banging on his bumper. :rolleyes: Typical Hamlin, Harvick bumps him to let him know he was faster, passes him and then Hamlin finds some new found speed and goes to bumping him back? Bumping Harvick? Well if nothing else, Hambone found out what would happen if he did that.
