Cup Race Thread - Talladega

@jeffgordonweb: Fast racecar check, great team check, nothing to show for it check, check, check!!! #canusayfrustrating

Good news Kasey is no longer the bottom team in points at Hendrick

There is plenty of time for Big Daddy to get 2 wins. Problem is, he might need 3!!

I think there is still plenty of opportunity for him to get the wins he will need to get the WC. Two of the three races he won last year is still on the schedule, plus there is two more road courses, which Gordon is always a threat at. Remember, he has had some good runs this season, just not the finishes to show it. If the 24 can stay out of trouble, and start getting the results to match some of the good runs, they should be fine.

Good lord Andy, I think you have just set the record for negative posts. If you don't like it, quit watching and leave the rest of us to enjoy and comment on the race.
It's getting old.
i agree with andy the racing this year just flat out sucks! period i have neen a fan for 25 years people i know what im watching and this year im watching professional drivers out there riding around with the windows down! boring as hell! and dw should be quiet all he can do is brag on jimmy johnson every other word out of his mouth is about how fabulous the 48 team is i think he wants to sllep with him.

I'd like to congratulate Roger Penske on this victory today by the Kes because God knows he's had nothing BUT bad luck on this track. Rusty was cursed at this place & since comming back online in 2001, Dodge hadn't done much here as a manufacturer so there were three big wins today. Hell I may even buy the 1/24 raced version when it comes out...

Kez has had some trouble getting guys to work with him. After finishing 4th in the fall working with Blaney and winning his second Talladega race this week, those days are probably over. Guys like Kurt will start doing things his way, and that's what Brad has needed on RP tracks. Brad has always struck me as a driver who figures out a track, and then goes on to dominate in those races. We'll see, but IMO he's surely going to displace Carl as Fords favorite driver.

You start winning too many of these restrictor plate races, you start to lose friends.

 Looked to me like Denny had an opening and went for it! AJ missed his block and ran into Denny....not a big fan of
'the Dinger today! Glad to see a Dodge win though.

You mean Denny went for a hole that only would have worked Saturday in Kentucky?

Nope, I think he means just what he said. Plenty of other people made it three wide, but plenty of other didn't have a certain yellow 22 car decide to throw a block 3 seconds too late.

Seen elsewhere.....

Out -> Frowning upon fuel-mileage races. In -> Frowning upon temperature-gauge races.

I liked it. Didnt like Krashalotski winning but what cant you do

No I saw, and no one take this out of context... Denny go too hard for that small hole.

Adult content:

After smashing Sam I was, this makes me wonder what Danica does when the hubby goes for the small hole.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing from Talladega Superspeedway drew a 4.7/11 for NASCAR on FOX coverage of the Aaron's 499. Sunday's 4.7/11 is +34% better than the 3.5/7 FOX earned for racing from Darlington Raceway on the comparable 2011 weekend, and it's +2% better than the 4.6/11 the Talladega race delivered last year when it fell two weeks earlier. For the entire season, NASCAR On FOX trails last year's pace by -4% (4.4/9 vs. 4.6/9).

There are none so blind as those who will not see. Talladega isn't the problem.
