I admit I didn’t consider that. It may be because I’m opposed to forcing them that close together in the first place but since that’s the practice, you have a valid point.

For the gazzilionst time it ain't going to happen. Stages are mainly for the bill payers to show ads with an added bonus of racing points added for the teams. Hard heads will not prevail.

Tire wear and handling races at plate tracks probably wouldn’t be very popular. The 2004 Daytona 500 would be remembered as an all-time stinker if Dale Jr. didn’t win. Those types of races just wouldn’t cut it in modern times.
