Cup RACE thread --- Texas

Chase is gonna hafta will his car to the front to win next week. We know Gustafson can bring speed but he’s no strategist.

Even if he doesnt make it into the final 4, he has progressed in his sophomore season and has driven further than most predicted in 2017.

No reason to hang your head as a fan.

Can’t stay Truex smh.. but y’all call Kyle Busch a cry baby that all Truex does... it’s akways someone else’s fault.. he acts like no one is suppose to drive hard around him smh
Whiney ass is what one of his own Crew Chefs called him.

So Truex gets beat one time and that means he's not a good driver, ignoring the 7 times he's won this season. Got it. Happy I got to see Harvick win in person though!

Martin was exposed today for what he is, just another average driver that can't win unless he has a dominate car.
Just wait until he gets to Homestead and can't run the wall.

Glad to see the Truex bash is in full swing. Gonna be funny listening to the pissing and moaning when he wins the Homestead Bowl.

Congrats to Harvick. He found some speed that last run and ran down the 78. Definitely found the speed to win it all if things fall his way in Miami.

Ugggghhhhh... I missed the race today. This is the first time I have missed a Cup race all year.

Fair play to Harvick. Sure did not have him pegged down as being a final four driver this season. ;)

For everyone suggesting that Truex and Kyle will wreck at Homestead - I would not count on it. It happened ONCE at Indy, and both of them were to blame for that. There is a reason why it has not happened since then, even with them being around one another quite a lot.

Suppose?

Guy wins, he gets ragged on. Guy finishes 2nd, gets ragged on. LOL

I remember years ago when it was the "Pity Party for Truex". "Man, he'll get a win, one of these days. ONE OF THESE DAYS. He's gotta catch a break soon."

*goes on to win seven races in a year several years later*

"He's just an average driver with a GENIUS crew chief and an AMAZING car powered by ****ing Toyota" - you know, like Austin Dillon or Michael McDowell could win 10 races in his car, smdh.

Bayne was several car lengths ahead. Maybe the #13 actually impeded him a little bit earlier, but it looks like Truex getting loose by himself in the middle of 1 and 2 sealed the deal.

Yeah, I don't think that #6 had anything to do with it. I think Harvick used the air to his advantage.

My point is that if one driver can't complain about lapped traffic - none should.

However, they ALL do.

Why do you think this? That’s a prevailing sentiment around here that Jimmie is done soon, why?
He moved to Colorado last off season, his kids are getting school aged, he seems to not be able to drive a loose car like he used to, his interviews have not shown the fire any more,he is 42 has millions and has had a hall of fame spot reserved for him, All that travel has to get old sooner or later. Nothing left to prove

Truex is not Johnson/Gordon level talent. Its the product of not being a bad racer and having an elite crew chief and engineering team.

Can you even have a discussion without mentioning Gordon or Johnson? Not one single person believes Truex is as good as those guys.

Doesn’t mean Truex isn’t a very good race car driver in the present time. Would he be this good without Pearn and TRD? Of course not. Refusing to give the man any credit for wheeling fast cars to victory lane 7 times in a year is jilted as all hell. Getting tired of the narrative that the 78 drives itself. That Landon Cassill or David Ragan could win in those cars.

If Truex wins the title this year, he will have earned it. Fair and square.

The Ato crap is mind numbing

So sick of the Olympian regurgitating NASCAR procedures...

I have no clue what god awful angle NBC is trying to play with that, but it needs to end. It’s awkward and embarrassing. It’s like Ato is supposed to be the newbie NASCAR fan and NBC guys are educating him on the “sport” of stage points and aero push.

I wouldn’t have a problem with it if it were true. Bayne is often a pain in the ass to get around, but he didn’t play a role in determining today’s result.

LOL

Facts though. The #4 got him loose & Kevin even said so.

If NBC insists on doing the stupid finish line interview I wanna see the Monster girls RUN out there
