Plenty of snow here in Northeast PA and more to come this week!

I spend a quite of time in Fargo and Grand Forks, ND and needless to say I rather watch it rain Daytona then deal with days on end of sub-zero temps like they are right now. I was suppose to move to Fargo (job at North Dakota State) before covid hit and was fully prepared for that lifestyle. I lived in Montana for 3 years is so I know what -30 actual air temp feels like.

Every place get's their share of "unique" weather. Between hurricanes, heat and humidity and tornados, Daytona Beach and the track itself must deal with their fair share of craziness. The images of when Atlanta Motor Speedway got hit with a tornado still resonates.

Snowing dust here, heavy stuff to come

Yep. I'm watching two radars right now.

One here in Fort Worth, to see when the heavy snow will start (our fist big accumulation event in 6 years).

The other for Daytona, to see if any of the nearby isolated storms will hit the track.

Let's see if I remember what channel the local Fox affiliate occupies without having to check the guide...

When I saw Neman's crash I thought we were looking at a fatality.. That was one of the worst crashes I have ever seen..

I think everyone here can agree that while racing may be inherently dangerous, we absolutely have to do everything in our power to mitigate that risk and that the sanctioning bodies have a moral obligation to keep the drivers as safe as possible

As I've said before, NASCAR deserves a lot of criticism for a lot of things. They can't be criticized for their driver safety efforts though. Those cars are tanks. Shocked NASCAR ain't been contracted to build vehicles for the military yet.

I bet who ever wins the D-500 trophy won't be throwing it from boat to boat. The only driver probably strong enough to do it would be Newman. :)

Super Bowl on CBS: Shows us well-produced, badass montages before showing us teams introduced live on the field.

Daytona 500 on Fox: Has some dude flipping burgers name drivers.
