I only give it that because of the winner and that I was able to pick the top 3 finishers in the Yahoo Fantasy Auto Racing league.

Well, the fans spoke and the tandem racing has been eliminated. It's back to pack racing. Only this time, there's no racing going on. I found myself quickly becoming board with the lack of racing/passing. On top of that, 42 laps of caution didn't help much although last year's D500 did have 60 laps of caution. I guess the massive fire and cleanup effort this year made it seem like far more? Politics came into play @ the end to remove any doubt in the outcome of the race. I guess the Biff did what he had to do to insure that Roush win but I sure would have thought he'd want to win that race. I was glad to see Jr. running strong @ the end pretty much on his own still managing to pass Biffle on the outside coming to the line.

Can't wait for Phoenix.

Ten for me.Loved the racing and the sideshow.Loved the win for Matt and Katie.Maybe this is his year.

Nice.

Exactly what I predicted. The wrecking will stop when the parade starts. nascar made these cars way too unstable and easy to wreck. But the fan council wanted 'the big one' and that's what we got, with a tandem ending.

I don't like plate racing, I especially didn't like the tandem crap. Plate racing sucks no matter what the format. Fans will never agree. I'll give it an 8 simply because an RFR Ford won, none of my drivers were in the garage and all of them finished on the lead lap. Can't wait for them to get the hell away from Daytona and get on with the real racing .

The racing was much better than the tandem racing but I will still only give it a 6. Drivers seemed afraid to race, not that i blame them much.

Outside lane never came in, cars not being able to suck up, big crash on lap 2 and the delay....I was disappointed. I thought it was gonna be a great race and it really wasn't. Nobody's fault just never got that Daytona 500 feel.

It was hard to pass, I give it a 6.

Yeah MRM...I agree...but I'll give it a 7 for burning down a jet dryer (at night) and the drama that ensued - knowing that NASCAR was freaking out about possibly giving the win to what's-his-name ;).

Oh and the use of Tide....make that 7.25

I'll give it a 7.5 wish the Top lane could have came in but with all the rain and starting on a green track it just never happened, that and Biffle/Kenseth had STRONG cars.

NASCAR and the Crew at Daytona International Speedway get a Big 10 they did a great Job!

Right on Flash .I like the part about the track crew.Outstanding job .I was watching the drivers going into that turn full speed the first time and wondering what they were thinking .

I can't give this a number, because it was such a mess. The real excitement was a 3 ring circus, so it was enjoyable....I guess. But the racing was bad, boring and just plain dumb. nascar, PLEASE bring back the sanity and exciting finishes of tandem racing while you figure this out. Teams are going broke, and drivers are close to getting hurt.

HUH?

This comment gets a 10!

The race gets a 4.5 from me. No Destructor Plate Race will EVER get more than a 5.0 from me.

The track crew gets a 10!

BTW, do you think that NA$$CAR will now have a foam dispersal vehicle at all events? That's what is used to douse kerosene/jet fuel fires...

I'm just glad Daytona is over. Now we get to a track where the driver has to actually drive to win a race and not just bank on luck.

Nice.

well, your wrong, the reason for 1 line...................JR. HAD NO HELP [LOOK AT JR. RACING THE BRAKE DRAGING FORD [9],f0r halfwway money

Dude, I'm NOT talking about Jr or the end of the race, which WAS tandem racing.

But Jr should have figured out in half a lap that Biffle was slowing him. His only move was to get outside Biffle on the back stretch and sidedraft to seperate the 2, then work on Matt.

During Jr.'s and Greg's press interviews both indicated that there was no brake dragging and that they did everything they could do to get up to the 17.

Greg's BS'ing, naturally. He eased off the gas. There is no way Matt pulls away from 2 of the fastest cars tandem drafting.

2. I like racing, not crashing. When they were racing, it was single file. And team politics removed any unpredictable situations at the end.

lol,ok,why was the gap getting bigger [between 17 n biff] as JR. pushed biff?

Quite boring the shootout was much better then the actually 500. I give it a 6 just based on tradition, I was so hoping for that Hendrick car, after the three had a bad day. I guess they are in a lose-lose, no one liked the two car tandems and no one like the single file we saw last night.
