Well it was a wet one. Tailgated till 9pm on Saturday only to have the race postponed. Then saw quite the rain shortened demo-derby on Sunday. All that time sitting around got me thinking about Daytona. They are spending and astronomical amount of money in improvements to that track. Its pretty spectacular how much construction is going on. I think their money could be well spent in something that will really make the racing better at Daytona.
Here goes nothing...
Help Goodyear develop a tire that can withstand the loads of a 3,500lb car at full horsepower. The restrictor plate has got to go. In my opinion, the only way to stop these 42 car wreck fests is if they actually have to lift for the corner. The only way to do that, is to let the cars go faster. Period. Now I understand that changes will have to be made to the walls/fences etc. But I feel thats the only way to get rid of these giant pack wrecks that are probably more dangerous than cars going 230, 240 or 250 mph.
Thoughts?
