Where did I say in this thread that anyone didn't have any talent? Nowhere.

I asked where all this talent got him. Ultimately it never got him a championship. And that's what it all boils down to at the end of the day. When it's all said and done people will remember you for championships. Not top fives, not top tens, championships.

yeah i tend to agreed with that statement, but i do think that mark martin will be the exception, i mean he is like the champion that never won a championship.
 
Sure championships are nice. They point to some achievement in your career. It's like getting a pat on the back at work. For me the real talent translates into money. A driver may never win a championship but if he's putting ducats into his and his owner's pockets then he has achieved his goal.
Too many people I know work for a title. Me, it's all about the money. I don't care what the accolades are. Just show me the money.
 
really pure? you're the first one here that i've heard said you'd do it for the money..sure the money comes in nicely but those guys do it for their passion they have for racing, of course i'm not including those field fillers that start a race and then park..but yeah i would too do it for the passion of racing.

People remember you for wins also. I think more people remember Mark Martin than Dale Jarrett or Bobby Labonte.

Really? Maybe fans that are new to the sport and weren't around when those guys won a lot, I guess.
Not me. I like Mark, but Dale and Bobby have championships for a reason.
