Two big Lucas Oil Late Model races this weekend in Virginia.

Winchester, Virginia - Night one of the two race Virginia swing takes the Lucas Oil Late Model series to the high banked Winchester Speedway. With some rain and cooler temperatures coming through the area earlier in the day, the track was super fast and super racy. A new track record was set, and the points battle heated up as the two battling put on a tremendous battle for the win. Also in attendance were the weekly pure stock and u-car divisions.

Jamaica, Virginia - For the second race of the Virginia swing, the Lucas Oil Late Model Series visited beautiful Virginia Motor Speedway for Ernie Shelton's USA 100. With a unique format of two 25 lap qualifiers and a 50 lap feature, the USA 100 is a standout race for the traveling late model drivers and fans alike. With a $15,000 winners take, the race brought plenty of regional talent to face off against the Lucas Oil stars. Also in attendance were a good number of open wheel modifieds, vying for a large $3,000 to win feature race. Being delayed by rain the night before, the event became a daytime race that was unfortunately cut short because of even more wet stuff made the 1/2 mile clay surface un-raceable. Even though the late model feature was cut short because of wet skies and the modified feature was completely cancelled, there was plenty of side-by-side racing action to thrill the fans in attendance.
