Follow the engine builders . They are the key. (ted@economy 2013)
It would be a sad day RCR to leave GM.

oh crap this is a good topic. don't know if it is the body or engine or both but the Fords are the slowest of the bunch. Use Matt Kenseth, same driver different car..or Joey and Kez, Joey in particular, that kid drives his butt off and when he gets to the front like the Saturday race, he has nothing for the Toyota's or Chevys. With the recent switches, prove to me anyway, it is the car and not the driving. I guess Penske has to get his engines from Roush/Yates. Be an interesting switch to put a Hendrick motor in one to see if it is the car or the engine. I bet Roger has already done that, he is good buds with Rick Hendrick.
actually motor is way less of a deal than most people think. 30 hp will never be seen at the track except at a RP track. its handling that makes these cars really go. as for joey, IMO the guy is doing a ton better in a penske car than he was in a gibbs car. he had california won, which is a track where high HP helps. I think nascar must be pretty happy with the motor situation as they have not taken engines to dyno in so long I can't remember. the other is the driver does make the biggest difference, look how much better kurt is running the 78 car these days. regan smith never ran like that in the 78 car.

And Jimmy Johnson gets his engines out of the same crates as a dozen other drivers , he just drives them better.
