Does Denny Hamlin ever get in a NASCAR Cup Series car again?

My prediction is that he will be back stronger than ever next year...but I doubt he will put 4 tires on with only 2 laps left in the championship race if he is leading. Learn from your mistakes and get back at it is what makes a championship caliber driver, and team... and Denny and his team are definitely championship caliber.
At Miami you might actually want 4 tires

With possibly the most competitive man of all time as a business partner (MJ), do you honestly think he's gonna quit because he lost? Hell, MJ would probably tell him to double down. I expect a different Denny next season, call it his Black Hat Era...he's going dark, he's coming back.

I’ve heard people make disparaging remarks about Denny for many years now. My interest in drivers is primarily how well they drive & Denny is a premier wheelman. When you factor in his age he is beyond awesome! He was the best driver on the circuit this year so I hope he is back in the 11 next year.

I agree, but let's not forget that Denny didn't decide on the tire strategy. His team did, and it was statistically the right decision per Bozi. Denny literally did everything he could do. I do agree that this won't affect him much after a few days. He has made a joke out of his mottos over the years with regard to a particular year being different than others. He may even give a **** less, and that makes him really dangerous IMO.

Maybe. But sometimes you have to step up to the moment and call an audible. I can argue that’s what separates a true champion and is an example of what has held him back mentally.

At the end of the day he’s the one that pulled into the pits. It wouldn’t be he first or last time a driver has disobeyed an order. They couldn’t force him, and he would have been forgiven if he won. Dale Sr was known to do things like that from time to time for example. That’s one of the things that made him great. Sometimes it’s just the small subtle differences.

Again sometimes you just have to step up to the moment and just find a way to do the impossible, even when it seems like there’s nothing can do. That’s what separates a true champion and is very rare. That’s what a game 7 moment is about. That was his moment to step up, and whether we agree with that and with the format or not, it’s reality today, and there’s always heartbreak along with failure in these moments. This time it was his.

He ain't Dale Sr. and this isn't the 80's.

Recall this statement from Hamcrap earlier this year:

"You can either get on the bandwagon or you can get run over by it" 😫

He had the TV announcers and press all piled on for Phoenix. Oh well…🚑

This is a ridiculous topic.

Outside of competing for a title, Denny's under personal stress from his father's health and the lawsuit. Under those conditions, things can look pretty bleak, and people can say and feel things after a long disappointing day. They can also feel very different after a couple of nights of decent sleep and a few good meals.

I've always thought Denny was a bit of head case but I don't see him walking away.
Denny’s partner at 23XI walked away from his sport when his father passed away. We have no idea how losing a parent can affect someone, and to speculate on that would be baseless. I don’t think Denny is going to retire because of Sunday, he’ll be back.

The sport is drastically different than the Sr. days. Denny puts it in his crew chief's AND engineer's hands as he should. DFH did everything and more to win this thing. He just didn't. **** happens. Nobody to blame. It would be harder to justify Larson as a champion today than Denny as a loser....but some will try....you gave it your best.

No regrets. There is still time. He isn't done.

Denny is a champion. He might not have the official tag from NASCAR but his performance this year proves would be deserving of the title. With 6 wins, 14 top 5s, 18 top 10s and 5 poles, he outperformed everyone out there.
Denny has his head on straight despite what his naysayers think. They are only looking for ways to disparage him, but he pretty much spit in everyone's' face this year with his record.

Denny will return. He's a champion. He is determined, he works hard and he knows how to deal with diversity on track. Right now his priorities are his Dad and his family as they should be.
But make no mistake, Denny will be back.

Denny won 6 (6!) races this year and should have won this one (cannot explain 4 tires)

He isn’t falling off so I can see him giving it one or two more years since he wasn’t beaten out or losing like others who have faded. He’s performing peak and can have another shot. That being said the 23XI element does make it a chess game I’m not sure about. But few great competitors just walk away after having a winning season. Some but few.
Nothing is guaranteed. Harvick won 9 in 2020 and 0 in 2021

To long face Denny.

Denny and his crew chief screwed up and choked away the championship. If you’re blaming the sanctioning body for that then you’ve lost the plot. Kyle Larson and his team made the right call and performed at the right time.

This format sucks, but it’s distracting from the fact that Denny entered pit road ahead of Kyle and left behind him. Four tires didn’t catch two. It was the wrong call.

Everyone had the same format. NASCAR didn’t force Denny to take four and they didn’t tie lead to his car to keep him from catching Kyle on that restart.

Dylan Lupton running out of talent and Joey Logano being an ass screwed Carl Edwards. Dennis and his team had more of a hand in his loss.

Denny Hamlin wanting to rage quit shows that he doesn’t have the mindset of a champion and that’s why he has choked in every single format he has competed under. This is the same mental midget that choked away 2010. He’ll probably choke in the next format too.

I remembered Logano cutting Edwards off, Edwards had a hell of a jump. I didn't remember Lupton. Was he the cause of the late race caution?

It was two 2 tire calls by Cliff Daniels to get Larson from the back of the longest line into a position to win the championship. Hell of a race if you weren't into the gimmicks, it had it all.

If I am remembering correctly, Lupton spun to bring out that caution.

Speaking of late race cautions. I'll never understand some fans going ape$hit whenever there is one. The drivers are hot and tired, their cars are at their limit, many are low on fuel and tires so what in the hell do you expect? I tell ya what. Expect cautions.

They may not look for excuses, but you know dang well they get excited when they’re able to throw the caution to set up a late race restart. They love the drama and the chance to add some extra clips to their highlight reel. If that wasn’t the case, we wouldn’t have the playoffs or the GWC. Either NASCAR loves the drama and “excitement”, or they think the fans love it.

Denny only ran 35 races too! IMO he is the champion this year regardless what anyone says.

IMO it’s much easier to move on with your life if you had a really good relationship with your dad.

I'll go higher than that. At least 97 out of 100 are for cause, usually safety.
Your figure of speech is higher than my figure of speech, but my percentage is higher. It won't matter to those who go ape$hit though. They are perched and waiting for that piece of debris that isn't found. The Nascar vulture section.
