Lord I hope so, so we can finally put the favoritism, golden child, etc., etc., narrative to bed. (even tho it won't cause those people are just as prevalent as the Chase fans they hate).

Many fans would be upset but more importantly there would be massively negative media coverage.
If two drivers commit the same offense and the black guy gets suspended while the white guy doesn't there will obviously be accusations of racism.
Maybe the sport can come together and bond over parking Chase. Riiiiight who am I kidding!

If they can prove he did it on purpose, or if Chase admits to it, then I have no problem parking him for a race or 2. But as many cars I saw bouncing off the wall out of control yesterday makes it a little harder to judge if it was on purpose. I don't let myself get caught up in let's kill the golden child mentality. I have never driven one of these cars at over 200 miles an hour bouncing off of a wall with another car right next to me, but I figure it wouldn't be that hard to lose control even for a professional driver like Chase Elliott.

The data shows he took a hard left at the moment everything happened.

The left was after he was already off the wall…it’s no defending this….
When that data was recorded was he still in a turn or was he on a straight away? If he was still in a turn than you probably know why I'm asking.

Chase is such a nice guy. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I hope Rutledge is there at the Pool Hall to capture the moment when Chase is exonerated by the penalty report.

Should they park Chase, yes. Will they park Chase, most likely no.

NASCAR has zero credibility if they left if they let Chase off the hook.

Especially after Rick H and Jeff Gordon spent the week after Darlington bitching and moaning about Chastain walling poor little Kyle Larson.

I like Chase. I don’t care how many eyeballs he draws or how many NAPA hats he sells. You hook someone head on into the wall on in the quad oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, you need to sit for a week.

If they suspend him they might have a tad lower viewership this weekend.
I'm not disputing your comment because past history seems to back this up but I've never understood it.

I have my favorite drivers but I also like most of the drivers and I like watching races. To completely not watch a race because your one and only driver you are interested in isn't racing says you're not much of a fan of NASCAR in general.

Some people aren’t racing fans.

Didn’t expect that one
Holy **** ****!

He's touted wanting a chance in an elite ride.

********. This is the test of a lifetime for him.

Put up or shut up time for Corey Lajoie and his stans. Could be a career changer for him. I’m intrigued.

Carson Hocevar making his Cup debut in the 7. Feel like he’s the future for Spire.

I'm happy that NASCAR is at least being consistent here. I don't generally agree with suspensions for on-track things unless it's a Kenseth/Logano or Bowyer/Gordon deal where it's blatantly obvious (such as being on the track laps down just to wreck someone).

But NASCAR made their bed here. Bubba was suspended for hooking Larson so Elliott should be suspended for hooking Hamlin. If NASCAR wants to change the rules then they should. But until then, they have to apply the precedent that they set.
