Anyone watching or is everyone busy fighting over Kurt Busch in the Carl Edwards thread?
**** Ryan Truex.
Five laps to throw a caution for debris? This is a joke, right?
Kyle ran him clean. He could've moved him but he didn't.
The dominate car gets a flat and Carl has a hell of a run. I was glad to see Trevor run down on Joey with his constant blocking for Kyle.
Kyle was funny tonight. He want's to sit Joey down for a talk, when Joey has held off the faster car time after time to get Kyle the win. How is it that Kyle says he is supporting the series, but he often skips his post race interview when he doesn't win?
He's not "supporting" the series, he's "supporting" his own pocketbook.
It's a shame, Kyle's a great driver but the way he feels entitled to wins is getting old.
Great run by Eddie Haskell to win with a damaged racecar! I am glad that Carl remembered to thank his teammate for the big push!
As for Pee Wee's anger towards Joey, I think that Kyle was probably referring to the fact that the 18 and the 60 are in a heated battle for the N'wide owner's point championship (Joey was in the 18 last race). Since neither Joey or Kyle are running for driver points, it made no sense for Joey to take it 3-wide by diving to the inside of the 18 on a restart. I was saying that to my buddy while watching the race live - before we ever heard Kyle's comment. I thought Joey's move was idiotic, given the circumstances.
And for Joey to complain that Trevor "got too close" and "I don't know what he's thinking" was pretty self-serving too. Joey, Dude, you put your left front tire on the apron - and when you do that, the car gets loose...
It's a race, wasn't aware people were supposed to back out to let their teammates win. I thought people were supposed to get in the cars and race for the win.
That's the way I seen it.Kyle ran him clean. He could've moved him but he didn't.
Well, of course! But y'all saw what Trevor did with the 60. He could have driven down low and made it 3-wide going for the win, but the big picture was trying to help the 60 capture the owner's crown - for HIS owner. And Eddie acknowledged that in his post-race interview.
Joey chose to do the opposite when he could have been more supportive of HIS owner. Joey's move was not a move that I would expect to see from the teammate of a championship contender.
Seems some of you think NASCAR should turn in to F1, where team orders should take effect.
Except for those of you who routinely hope for Kyle's race to end in a firey crash, that is...
Certainly Not! But in this day and age, every driver has to understand how important a championship is when it comes to sponsorships. And when a team owner has more sponsorship dollars to spend, he normally spends them on better equipment, drivers and crew members - which elevates everyone in the organization.
Joey's decision did not impact the outcome but it was, none the less, a high-risk, low-reward move. Had Joey gotten loose under the 18 and slid up into his teammate y'all would be asking what he was thinking with a championship on the line. (At least, I would.)
Except for those of you who routinely hope for Kyle's race to end in a firey crash, that is...
Just watched the race. Sweet finish.
I spent the day at my uncle's funeral. He was a hell of a man and a diehard Ford fan. My uncle was in WWII and in Saipan when he was in his late teens. He raised 6 kids, was a racer and a mechanic and built a lot of fast Ford cars. He wouldn't work on Jap cars
Carl Edwards was his driver and it's only fitting that Carl won today with a flat-sided racecar.
RIP Uncle.
