I’ve never done door panel upholstery before. I got this idea in my head.
Original Sport Custom panels are glued to some kind of fiber board. The window channels on this 72 truck are open to the elements and the fiber board gets warped.
I decided to try to make my own.
I used 3003 aluminum to replace the fiber board cards. Bought some vinyl, tweed, sew foam, acrylic felt and aluminum square stock.

The aluminum square stock will be polished and installed with stainless countersunk screws and will divide the vinyl and tweed. Upholstery dude down the street mated the sew foam and the tweed for me.
Started gluing this morning

It is contact cement. Just better hold in heat. I use Camie 303 to glue foam to foam or foam to fabric. The Weldwood is better for gluing all of it to the aluminum. Some of the 3M adhesives dissolve foam, the Camie 303 does not.
I see. Thanks for explaining.
