Seats going from 18 inches to 22 inches. Less seats to sell, equals less empty seats on camera. It's a win/win.


Rumor has "Crisco' being a new race sponsor.
 
I wonder if they'll be expanding on those massive tarps that they cover the empty seats with too?

NASCAR did this track no favors a couple of year ago when they moved the spring date earlier in the year. Epic failure IMO. Fortunately they've moved it back to its original position on the schedule. Hopefully some of the fans come back.
 
When you come out of the tunnel or you drive around the outside of the Las Vegas speedway it looks like the seats are full because of the way they are painted. That was a pretty smart move by Bruton Smith.
 
I don't see how the appearance of more people can help their bottom line . I would think actually filling the seats would.
I do like the idea of larger seats though.

Same here..Think of how much the change is going to cost!!!! w/o advance prices tix range from 84 to 96 bucks EFF that, drop the prices to rock bottom and they probably would come out ahead.
 
Years ago , when they were adding turn three grandstands , Dover offered cheap tickets in the temporary set up . $30.00 I think . We were delighted with the offer and spent $1,000.00 going down there for three days.So cheap tickets will work .

I don't understand why tracks don't understand this. I tried to explain that to Old Dominion a few years ago, that they'd probably sell four times as many tickets if they cut the prices in half (not to mention concession sales). They did it one time in the many years I used to go there and they sold over 2,000 tickets. This is a track that doesn't even sell 400 tickets most of the time.

Because I'm not one of the fans who will complain about a track closing and be part of the reason it does close. I'm also going to The Rock and I will kirk out ferociously if the fans, that have been whining about that track being closed, don't show up.
