DOVER Rate the race

7.5

Could have easily being a 9.5 had NASCAR let the race run as nature called.

Why would you throw a phony caution to bunch up the field when a fuel strategy race was in full effect and the drama and tension were sky high? Oh well.

8, love the track. Love the racing.

I'll go with a 7. Lots of hard racing at the beginning and at several points throughout the race, though there some stretches of boring as well.

6/10......race had it's moments...
also not a fan of the Jimmie Johnson show..but the 48 team there just to dam good at dover

Dover is actually one of my least favorite tracks on the schedule but I'll go with an 8, just because Junior was so strong all day today. I always enjoy seeing my favorite driver run up front. It was also nice to not see a race filled with cautions/wrecks, and the few restarts we did get to see were fun to watch.

7...two Negatives: mystery debri caution....come on really Nascar???? second: JJ winning!

Terrible racing except the restarts otherwise I dont consider minimal passing great racing...I do enjoy strategy and long green runs. I don't enjoy corrupt nascar throwing cautions whenever the fell like it. They were afraid Clint was going to pull it off...which would of been cool to see playout. They are so corrupt its sickening

Maybe I'm not qualified to rate this race since I watched the first 300 laps in the small picture in picture on the tv as I watched my cardiac Cards pull out another one out of their .... hat. (Didn't want to stay up late tonight watching the race after 3 NFL games.)

Nice to see the #88 finish strong. Not sure if he would have won if not for the overshoot of pit road, but we'll never know now.

I'm not sure what fake debris caution some of you are referring to, but I felt the last caution was legit.
Granted, the debris shown was out of the racing groove, but it definitely could have cut a tire for someone entering pit road.

On to Kansas.

Agree, That spring rubber may have been no problem if it stayed green. But a wrecking car or two at about 150 MPH could turn that thing into something with the potential to really hurt someone. Besides that last yellow gave Jr. a chance at the win.:D

As far as the rating, I'll give it an 8, great race.

I thought the trucks where the best race this weekend.. Today's Dover race race was so so.. I can do without the commentators kissing JJ's ass..

9. Dover's one of my favorite tracks on the circuit, and it didn't disappoint today. Every restart was phenomenal, and there was a lot of good racing back in the pack.

From what I saw, decent racing. 6/10. Probably should've watched the race instead of the Jacksonville game, might've helped my blood pressure.

What a load of crap. TV showed both pieces of debris and both endangered drivers lives . In my opinion , the cautions made the race outcome less exciting because there were going to be possible fuel issues which would have made the finish more exciting . You kids have to get off the big conspiracy theory and get a life. Nascar is reponsible to ensure the safety of the track . If you are sickened by Nascar , watch golf ...please.

This is one race I can't rate, My sister was visiting and I was distracted so I missed about half of it in total. :(

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a harmless piece of rubber.

Well I'm getting tired of folks coming on here to bash Nascar . Why don't they go on the Indy site and bash Nascar , everyone there would agree with them . If we don't stand up for Nascar , who the hell will ?

You are preaching to the choir.

I have stopped monitoring this site during a race because it takes away from the pleasure of watching a race.

Like I said, get em...

Give it a 5.5. Good racing after the first 10 laps after a restart but it went single file after that. Certain tracks these cars just can't pass. Would have been better to see the fuel mileage race play out. If they can call a caution for a decal coming off the wall I guess they'll call a caution for a spring rubber a whole 2 lanes under the racing surface.

Jr didn't look happy with 2nd - that was good. Johnson got his 8th win at the Rock - that was impressive. The top 3 in the Chase are still in the hunt - that's good. A dozen cars on the lead lap after a lot of long green flag racing - that was good too. The top 10 were all Chase drivers - that was good. Good race.

pretty good race and I will give it a 8. Too bad there weren't many fans there to watch it.

I race over ROCKs that are bigger than that.

Not only was it a potential danger to the people in the grandstands, but also to the track officials that are standing out in the open throughout the track.

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a harmless piece of rubber.
sloggie, that harmless piece of rubber is HARD and heavy. A car hits one and it goes flying, it can hurt people. It could punch a hole in sheet metal.
It takes hundreds of pounds to compress one of those just a little bit.

They may be called rubbers, but they are anything but soft.

IMO, a piece of a race car the size of a brake shoe warrants a caution...I don't care who it may have cost a win.

As for the race, I enjoyed it but must admit that I was expecting a bit more from Dover. Still happy that I watched, though :)

What another load of crap . Accidents have been caused by far less and folks who watch Nascar know it . Harmless my ass .
What would say about the tape that brought a caution out the week before? Or the times nothing is shown always after a green flag pit cycle? There is reasons the sport has lost fans...as a fan I have right to complain.
