Dream Field

But the star of the family was Tim, the baby. He was one of the most colorful NASCAR drivers ever.
During his career he:
-- Raced with a monkey in his car.
-- Lost a race because of an in-car fight with the monkey.

(Now THAT'S FUNNY!!!! :XXROFL::XXROFL::XXROFL: - Andy)

-- Raced in a car with the number 300 painted on it.
-- Won a Grand National (Winston Cup) title driving a Hudson Hornet.
-- Won NASCAR's only sports car race driving a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing.
-- Quit NASCAR racing altogether over a race ruling and opened a gasoline station only to be talked back into racing while watching time trials as a spectator and then going on to win that race.
-- Was banned from racing for life.
And on top of it all he was quite a driver winning 40 races (in 187 starts) and two Grand National titles in a career that started in 1949 and lasted until he was banned in 1961.

#43: Dale Earnhardt Jr. :D

Does it matter what NASCAR series they drove in? If not...

Richey Evens (mod)

but if not him

Smoke.

I agree with most. But I don't think Kyle should be on this list yet. JR was greate in the busch. So maybe he can get in on the two sippy cups he has. Johnson three in a row, and Jeff Gordon have earned aright.

:XXROFL: I should of said no Busch/Nationwide drivers, best Grand National/Nascar only

Laugh all you want, but he's had some great wins. Dale has won the Daytona 500 (finished second several times) and won The Winston in his first attempt.

Shrub is the better raw talent, but he has no control. Until he does learn control (both car and attitude) he'll never win a championship because he DNFs as much as he wins.

Yeah Jr. has had some great moments, just don't know whats it been since october of last year, just lack of focus? JR does still have a passion for this sport and Tony Jr was a huge problem,he has been a little better with mcGrew and that should help in the long run. He didn't do well at sonoma but heck he never does,In fact SR always hated road course racing as well. Dale will be a contender next year

Actually, he was just outside the top-ten before he got taken out in a turn 5 wreak in the closing laps. Sr never did well at road courses, but Jr has improved a lot. He's a long way from winning there on a regular basis, but he did lead the first half at Watkin's Glen last year before a bad call by Eury Jr forced him to pit off sequence.

He is improving alot of guys were having good runs at sonoma until bad pit stops(Logano) or just being foolishly taking out (Jr,Labonte)

I believe I saw Bobby Labonte, but did I see Terry Labonte?????

I saw it the other way..........I saw Terry but wondered where my man Bobby was!

....And where is Dick Trickle!........I was always interested in how he ran

If we take the track that's got 50 pit stalls that 7 more. But it's all about oppion. I do not agree with Dale JR and Kyle Busch. I thought about coocoo and his son, I also thought of dick and greg sacks but he just won one race.

I picked
Dale sr- 7 time champ. 70plus wins.
Erine erivin. Good driver. But got hurt in his prime
Bobby SR. Good in cup. Grate in trucks
richy evens. Best mod driver ever.

Not much seat time in Cup but how about one filed under "what might have been" or "foolishness snuffs out life early".... Rob Moroso

I remember the day he died. I heard it on the radio before I got out of bed. Man that was so sad.

Yes it was. I remember seeing it in the paper when I got to work. It was hard to believe. Back when there was no internet or mega hours of TV coverage before or after the race on Sunday. Back when you watched "Inside Winston Cup Racing" on TNN at 11AM on Sundays. It was the same way when Grant Adcox was killed in Atlanta. I was at that race and had no idea what happened until the next day.

I really felt bad for Dick Moroso...a nice guy who not only lost his son but best friend.

I watched him at North Wilkesboro, and even got his autograph the day before he died. It really shocked me, as he was a up and coming young phenom at the time. Way back before everyone had a 20 something in a racecar.
