But you do see it coming, right? Frankly, I'm glad they shortened the race. Haven't seen any pratice sessions, but hope the racing is good. It'll probably be on my TV, but the weather should be ice Sunday, so not sure how much time I'll actually spend watching it.
 
If it is not to hot, I will be be working on the building, either knocking out a wall, or building a floor maybe both. Listening on MRN, if it is hot I will just watch while doing inside work.


I am wanting to get the man cave completed soon. My night shift work is ending (thank God) it has been a long 13 years, I will be working days all the time by the fall. Lots more future time for racing coming up. Hoping to eventually get power, ac (I already have a fireplace built) then ac, tv, laptop, the works . Lots of redneck lost time to make up. In my wildest dreams maybe it will house another racer one day, a long shot....



Really I just can't be still enough to sit a whole race. I love it but especially with tracks like Pocono I usually do some pittle work to stay sane. If I may I would suggest the same for the bored, it makes life better. I love racing and it has been my Sunday gig since 1971, but after a while you learn to survive the slow days. Don't let Sundays race totally determine the quality of your day.

I'm predicting some type of push or bump draft passing on the long front straight and some crazy so called slide jobs thru the tunnel turn. Turn three got a lil fresh pavement a few years ago and made "The Patch" the place to be that issue is gone now that it's all fresh and grippy! Taking the extra 100 miles out will bring in some new strategy along with how the tires are performing It should be a very good interesting race.
Andy you don't have to watch if you don't want too!

I agree . A smooth new track takes the driver / crew chief skill out of it . Good racing needs bumps , pot holes , patches , seams , and abrasive old paving . It is a nightmare for drivers but seperates the men from the boys .
 
If the grip level is as high as the drivers are saying, and the 1 groove remains for the whole race, we may finally see drivers getting gently moved on turn exit.
 
It sounds like it'll be a Pocono Freight Train At least they didn't reconfigure the joint. So in a couple years the track will be seasoned in and those who liked Pocono before will have their track back. I always thought of Pocono as a drivers track anyway. Fast speeds, tricky corners. Not real racey but still worth the watch.

I wish they had put in some serious banking in turn 3. What a finish!

Don't get me wrong, I like Pocono. It's challenging and Pocono has produced some of the best finishes I've ever seen. Anyone remember Mayfield vs. Earnhardt?

But historically, when drivers like the way a racetrack drives and thinks it'll be a good race, well...

That was a great battle. We remember it well, I don't know if Jeremy does though.
 
Are they back to shifting again? If not I think we'll see a lot of motors dun blowd up.

Wait until next week for blown motors, and 195mph average laps. I'm actually looking forward to Michigan because of the speed they'll be packing. It probably won't be a good race, but those cars will be flying.

I think you are right IF they don't put plates on.
 
Put speed bumps just before turns 1 and 2 to bunch up the field, like a school zone. :confused:
