Maybe plate races should be 20 laps then. You know half of the 500 audience is casuals and non-fans? No one's gonna tune in for 3 hours to watch a train.

As someone pointed out earlier, they could be using this time to figure out how these cars will handle on Sunday. Better to find out now when you can go to a backup car, than Sunday when you can't.
