Duel Day at Daytona

It will be interesting to hear what Smith thinks about those dumb moves JJ made at the end. He probably cost him the win.

Saw two laps all day (walked in the door with 2 laps to go in the second race). Two things.

- What was Biffle thinking?
- Was it just me, or did JJ really come down hard on Smith on the back stretch?

So, in then end, I have no idea whatsoever to expect on Sunday.

-Who the frak knows?!
-YES he did! (But it will be Smith's fault in the end...)

I must be a sick bastard, cause Smoke14's comment made me laff out loud.

Dog help me...

My buddy and I noticed the same thing. I hope that she gets some help - cause she is in the danger zone!

As a plus-sized person, I really don't understand why you would say that. If her blood pressure is normal, her cholesterol under control, and she and Kenny are happy, what does it matter. My normal blood pressure is 116/65 and I work out every day. If you don't like the way she looks, or the way I look, don't look.

People been buying rides for years but since it's Mikey and you all hate him for some reason it's BS? Please people get a grip he has some talent and pretty much more then any of you. He won the damn Daytona 500 for god sakes something some of the best drivers in Nascar have never won yet. Can't be too bad if you ask me.

I liked MW ok before he started pushing the Aarons lucky dog yip yap while he was supposed to be calling the truck races.

He was good on the plate tracks, but his legacy or memory will be as a yes man that perpetually French kissed Nascars butt. That will earn him a comfortable living, but not the respect his brother earned.

Nascar has always demanded yes men, to protect their infallible leaders, so his future is secure.

I used to be fat. But I quit eating like a pig and started working out. Now I'm skinny. One day I realized there are very few fatties that live past 75. Being fat is terribly unhealthy. It will eventually kill you.

I agree with you 100%, TRL!

My comment was not intended to be critical. She just cannot be healthy at her current weight - no matter how she looks. Heart didease is the Number One killer of women in America and the greatest contributor to heart disease is obesity. That's all I was getting at...

Best girls to go camping with are the "full figured gals". You know they can cook, they won't wander off far, and in case of bears...you can outrun em ;)

(just kidding - weight problems aren't a joke - or shouldn't be - I'll likely go to h#ll)

lol I'm right behind you, because the bear thing is funny.

I'm really glad that you are starting to take note of the anti women remarks on these threads TRL .There are very few women on this forum and hardly any that have the nerve to post . I think that it would be a good idea to pm them and get their views.

No one posted anything "anti-women" in this thread.

Heheee, I took note of that also, it falls under "What goes around comes around" I heard Mikey was actually speechless afterwards? :D

You all can say what you want about Michael Waltrip but 25 consecutive Daytona 500 starts is quite an accomplishment. I would venture to guess that he's been running there longer than most of you have been around to see. Personally I think that many of the comments made say much more about the person making the comments than about the person that they are directed at. Maybe that's just me?

there's a difference between being anti-women and insensitive. i doubt seriously you'd find one anti-women member on this board. now insensitive at times is another story. <g>

Agree 100% I'm not a big fan of his on air personality but that's what they need to have to make tv sell.I did like him on the Speed show with Johnny Benson and Kenny , but he has dailed it up a notch. As far as Michael ,the driver , I have the utmost respect for what he has accomplished in his long career. Firstly just being one of the elite 43 drivers ,at least on this continent is quite an achievement .Just look at what these guys do when they drop down to a lower class , they win ..like Kenny Wallace did last week . In addition to being an iron man in the sport , he has several wins , which are pretty darn hard to come by.

Naaa, don't mind me I'm just a lil bitter about how he handled Davids deal.

Mikey tends to be very full of himself, he won his races with the best equipment on the track, hands down, and not without atleast one man giving all, to see that he won. His greatest talent, by far, is behind the camera, with his charisma, and charm. He's got a good group of drivers in his garage, although I think as much of a Truex fan that I am, that I would have sent Truex instead, and kept David. For all his racing, it seems like Mikey has lapses in judgement on the track, that get him into trouble. I enjoy listening to him call races and look forward to hearing him for many more years.

You could be talking about Jimmy Johnson , Jeff Gordon or any of the top drivers , I don't think Mikeys was as great as theirs.

IIRC, those DEI cars were pulling out of line and passing 2-3 cars by themselves back around 2000-2004. I don't recall Jeff, or Jimmy doing that alone. It took HMS a few years to catch up back then.

Well they are caught up now and I don't hear anyone criticizing Jimmy Johnsons five championships because he did it in the best equipment in the field.

You don't? I hear it all the time.
However, Jimmy has trophies from just about every track on the schedule........ many, multiple times. That small feat goes way beyond "good equipment."
If you put Waltrip in the 48 for any of the past 6 years, I don't think there'd be one championship won.
He'd probably have a few more plate trophies on his mantle though. He's sorta like Mike Wallace, good on the big tracks. He's no Rusty, or Darrell though.

I'll go back through the posts and see if I can find anyone who hates Jimmy Johnson because he only wins in great equipment.

Lurkers aren't anything new, so lets not get carried away. This site has one of the best lurker to poster ratios I can remember. If you want the formula to verify that statement, let me know. :D

So now we go from criticize, to "hate"???? Stop it dude...... there are plenty of folks that think Jimmy's success is largely in part to his equipment. It doesn't mean they hate him though.

Bet Mikey can buy and sell all the racing eggspurts here many times over. He's done something very, very few have done, won the Winston and the 500 TWICE. So go ahead and laugh.

As for Kenny's wife. Is there ANYTHING some won't find fault with? I'm sure you all have wives and girlfriends gracing the cover of the SI swimsuit issue. As another who is "fluffy" we all know the risks.

What I resent is the assumption that because I'm plus-sized I pig out all the time --- nothing could be farther from the truth. Yes, I'll indulge, but those time are few and far between. As I said, all my vitals, including stress tests are normal. My doc couldn't be happier. I work out every day. I'm constantly on the mower in the summer doing the front yard --- all 4 acres. I'm out picking up fallen limbs in the yard --- which is about 10 fenced acres.
I have been at my present weight for the last 30+ years --- no yo-yoing here. I'm built just like my grandmother and my grandmother, both of whom lived into the late 80s. I'll be 66 in May and looking forward to many more years.

So please, don't be so quick to judge.
