DW BASH

You could have left it with a period after Wallace for me.

I was just thinking the same thing.

For as long as they've been broadcasting NASCAR, one or more of these announcers/pit reporters have had some sort of affiliation to a driver/team/owner/whatever. We want people to be in the booth that know what they're talking about but we don't want them associated with anything NASCAR related. I don't get how that is ever going to work.

I want people to be in the booth that know what they're talking about. Period.

The model announce team for NASCAR, the team that everyone should try to emulate, is the ESPN team of Bob Jenkins, Ned Jarrett and Benny Parsons, IMO.

As the Sprint Cup Series heads toward the beautiful Richmond International Raceway, the talk about the TV coverage of the sport is heating up. Things got very interesting this week on Twitter.

It started innocently enough late Sunday night with these Darrell Waltrip posts:

"If you watched our telecast today I hope you enjoyed the coverage, thought we did a really good job of finding the action all over the track."

"The Digger shots were amazing, I bet he has a headache after today's race, this was another record setting day, fastest race at Kansas."

"Our entire team, director, producer, pit reporters, worked hard today to be sure we didn't leave anything on the table, emptied the bucket!"

After some fans and media members blasted the FOX coverage, Waltrip continued his Twitter posts on Monday:

"If someone says we covered the race yesterday like we do all the time, they didn't watch the race, from top to bottom we did it differently!"

"We focused on battles thru out the field all day until the end when Truex and Hamlin were battling for the win, pit reports were awesome."

Waltrip is certainly entitled to his opinion and has put in a decade of working on TV in the sport after his long Hall of Fame career as a driver...

EVEN MORE BULLSH!T!!!!

I normally cut the networks some slack because NASCAR is not an easy sport to cover but this last race put me on tilt. They show one car at a time and ignore the action. They talk and talk and talk about NOTHING. I wish someone would listen to the fans regarding this. Obviously some fans only want to see their fave driver but most of us here understand that it's the great battles that are what we are wanting. And yes, I am mad.

Let's play a game. If you had a chance to sit with a woman for 10 hours, talking, but no touching, who would you pick and why?
And yes FB and MIKE, you have to keep it in your pants. Even if they aren't looking, and even if they are asleep.
crazy 10 hours with any woman with no shot is crazy..

as for the topic I really don't like DW but if my brother had a team I would root for him too so I really don't think it is a big deal.

he is from the south he can't help it, I am from Arkansas and most of my family speaks like he does..but it drives me nuts too.

I guess you are not from deep enough in the brush....lol..for real where I am from they where overalls with no shirts and walk around with shotguns it's like the twilightzone I didn't grow up there because my mom moved from the crazys when I was young but it is a unreal experience when I visit. about 10 years ago my grandmother was real excited because they got a real life stop light like they have in Memphis....lol

Most likely no but DW if you read this tell Larry Mac to STOP PUTTING AN E ON THE END OF EXTRA.

..and stop saying INJUNS. I keep circling the wagons for no reason. Oh, try to get him to say Juan Pablo Montoya on air, just for laughs.

We'll if DW does read this ignore the hate. Also please answer my tweet about mixing Mt. Dew with the golf channel last week.

Larry is EKSPESHULLY annoying at times. But he's no match for DW...

Accents are ok in my book. It's the complete butchering of the English language that kills me.

One time Tim Brewer referred to the rear of the car as the "ass end" which I found perfectly acceptable so exceptions can be made.

Ass End is perfectly acceptable in my book too.

Accents and affectations are OK too. I don't know how long I could take Ward Burton as a color commentator but that's a topic for another thread...

Imagine this group calling the races one day.

Ward Burton, Sterling Marlin and Juan Pablo Montoya.

1. A show, pretense, or display.
2.
a. Behavior that is assumed rather than natural; artificiality.
b. A particular habit, as of speech or dress, adopted to give a false impression.

An example would be someone correcting spelling and punctuation in order to impress others. :D

It's not to impress others, FB. It's to ridicule you! ;)
Just Kidding, FB! I'm just trying to have some fun! WOOF!
