Just watched a segment on speed...

DW challenged Brad to do 500 laps in bristol in one of his old cars
DW said brad could not do 500 he would be "falling out of his seat, with his noodle arms"
Brad said he would buy one of Dws old cars and go 1000 laps at bristol
They shook on it

Made me LOL

Question....could he do it?

Strength is a deceptive thing.

BK might be a LOT stronger than what we think. Remember, the neck, forearms, are very important. I think he could, but it will be a lot more work.

Brad has to be the most full of constipated driver in Nascar. After these comments and his tantrum against Kenseth last week I believe it.

Last week he was totally disconnected from reality and just couldn't believe Matt would have raced him that hard. Afterwards he said that Matt wasnt fast enough to win and I can only assume he expected an easy pass based on his assumptions. I guess Matt was supposed to have been comparing lap times in real time and evaluating weather or not he had the right to race hard for the W in the moment. I also suppose it was coincidental that Matt was in front of to begin with.

Then he boastfully claims he could have manhandled one of the old tanks without power steering for a thousand laps back in the day. All in the same conversation were he claims to be less than sure of Dale Earnhardts Sr. ability to make it in todays nascar. There is confidence and there is BS and Brad smells more like the latter.

Brad won the title as a thinking mans driver, but he isnt currently as mentally strong imo.

Brad is the new Denny.

Didn't Joey managed to put some laps without steering assist or something this year at Bristol? He's even more of a wimp in terms of physique than Brad and he done it so I dont see how Brad is not up to the task.

He dropped like a rock through the field and was entirely uncompetitive though.

DW isn't a great an announcer but he could wheel the hell out of one of those cars.

Todays race demonstrates as much.

Brad cant control his own car now. What makes anyone think he can wrestle those landyachts around a track?

It really comes down to speed, weight and tire size. I don't know what the front tire width was back in DW's day, but weren't the cars lighter and slower in corners?

I'm still a Brad fan despite his recent shenanigans, but when you're right, you're right.

Also agree with mreed. The comparison to Denny is spot on. Kind of funny and ironic, since they both hated each other when Brad was coming up in Nationwide. Guess that's what happens when two massive egos clash.

I will put on my fan hat and say this in Brad's defense, though - at least he can admit it when he's wrong, like he did once he calmed down after the race at Richmond last Saturday. Denny has a much harder time doing that. I like both of them, though.

Even though we tend to make fun of the mistakes that these drivers make from time to time like Brad did today, he is still a damn good race car driver and he will probably win another championship in the near future.

I dunno, aside from being less mature now than in 2012, he has one other massive problem...
