Edwards car fails post-race tech

There is a difference though, that came from an outside supplier. The nose piece came directly from Dodge.

But to be honest that makes it worse, the supplier of the springs probably makes a ton of different springs....Dodge only makes a handful of those noses.

I don't think anyone can use years prior to 2007 as a comparison for inconsistent rule violations and subsequent penalties from NASCAR.

NASCAR has been more consistent in 2007 - 2008 than at anytime in the past. Going previous to 2007 would open a can of worms big enough to jeopardize the entire sport. The thought makes me shudder to think I have been a fan since 1958 and have seen the most egregious displays of team and driver favoritism, yet continued as a fan despite all that b.s..

IF, at any time, NASCAR or the appeals committee take fan support into consideration where penalties are concerned, the tail will be wagging the dog.
And the only way NASCAR can increase credibility in handing down any penalty is to make certain there is no "spin" put on the facts after the final determination.

IMO, NASCAR has been doing a good job of keeping the playing field level so far this year. They are trying to be consistent in their decisions. One can only hope they continue to do so.
