Edwards on NNS racing

Again, there's a difference between them running time to time and every race. The NWS guys love having the Cup drivers race, but not every race. While Marty Reid and ESPN2 do a good job talking about the non-Cup guys, the Cup guys still get all the exposure and sponsorships.

The series would not fold without Cup drivers. ARCA drivers find sponsors -- you know why? Because the Cup guys aren't there... and it makes less sense to sponsor an ARCA car.

If the Cup guys remain in Nationwide, they'll get all the sponsors and all the big namemoney. Sure, some sponsors would leave, but others would come in if the Cup drivers left and they might take a chance on some young talent... happens in ARCA and in short track racing across America.

It would be the series is is supposed to be like I said before. Nascar just is so greedy they want to squeeze every penny out of the big name guys that they can. Nationwide is supposed to be the triple A of Nascar, not a haven for the Cup guys to test, dominate, and essentially run amuck and make the Nationwide series look like a sham.

I'm just talking about the Sponsors. It's not the same as ARCA because of the dollars involved. NASCAR would have to cut the sanctioning and sponsor ship prices by 60%, and that's just not going to happen.

Why would they have to do that? Cup guys leave... sponsors go to the other guys, might not be the same ones, but sponsors will still support that series.

Evidently, Ryan Truex beating Danica Patrick in the NNS while carrying the "gamestop" logo, just isn't the same as Keselowski beating Edwards in the NNS series, by the above reasoning....

Not to mention you get some of the cooler sponsors coming in that some relate to more. Like Gun Broker.com and a few others that are on the truck rides.

So, Edwards (or any other cup regular) can earn the most points and still not be the NNS champ?

I'm seeing a whole big bunch of "well, under the old point system" and " well, the true champion is..." in the future.

And what if Edwards is the only cup guy running a full schedule and still doesn't have the points to be champ?

That has got to suck!
