The "good old days" ??
Hopefully the show matches what will be unprecedented hype.
After Danica, no hype is unprecedented.

Have u seen what the glen has?I'm glad to see it, but it looks like several track requirements are being stretched or ignored, starting with the SAFER barrier.
no.Does anyone think Eldora would be on the schedule if it was owned by someone else?
That place is a nightmare. Seems like every other year somebody goes into something, JJ, Denny, whoever, and I hold my breath till I see that window net go down.Don't remind me.

I love road racing. But if somebody is going to get killed in a Sprint cup race, it's at THE GLEN. F1 Drivers used to gamble with their lives all the time at THE GLEN.
Chills
Not a fan of the tire walls. Look how Hornish bounced off the tires here. Talk about scary. It wouldn't be half bad if they had more tire walls (See: Denny, Kurt). But up through the esses, the walls are too tight and it makes for a bad situation (see: both videos i posted)

I'd rather hit tires than metal. That said, I'd rather hit SAFER than either option.
So you'd rather hit 6 55 gal drums of sand?I'd rather not hit any barriers.

I see a lot of negative posts about Eldora and would be willing to bet the people making those posts have never been to Eldora. This track has four grooves and produces some of the best racing I have ever seen. The trucks at Eldora are going to be great. Me, I will be working the race.
Some people just can't see the positive in a positive situation.
Did you just say something positive about NASCAR?
What a trash yard. I remember that race. Very scary day for NASCAR.
Water is better than sand for the glen I would think.
Means going under McDuffie was amazing.
Any time a track smaller than a mile is added to a NASCAR schedule, it's a positive.
Move along. Nothing to see here.

Kinda tough to find fault in something that hasn't even happened yet.I see a lot of negative posts about Eldora and would be willing to bet the people making those posts have never been to Eldora. Word is they are opening up more hillside areas and I'll take what I can get. Already looking into a camping spot that doesnt have a cancellation penalty if I can't get tickets. Look out DP I'll KyBu your ass for those tickets if I have to.Kinda tough to find fault in something that hasn't even happened yet.
Me, I plan on trying to secure tickets/camping for this event. It looks like a 5 hour trip for me. I think it's going to be near impossible to get a ticket for those of us that have never been there. In reading to promotion for this event on the tracks web site it appears that the seats are first being offered to those that have already been supporting this track, rightfully so. By the time the January ticket sales open there will probably be a very short supply left. Whatever the case, I'll be on the phone and online that morning. They better up their bandwidth!
You do that and I'll Jeff Gordon yours! I thought that the tickets and camping both go on sale in January for us non regulars?Word is they are opening up more hillside areas and I'll take what I can get. Adult tickets are $36 and Children's (12 & younger) tickets are $12. Reserved seats are $4 more per seat.
Tickets and campsites go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013.
I've never been there, but I remember nascar saying the track wasn't wide enough for safer barriers. I just hope they figure the tire and weight balance out so we aren't watching a dangerous crash-fest.
Safer barriers? I guess when you make it to NASCAR, you leave your balls at home.
I was looking into a nearby independant campsite in case I couldnt get an onsite one and cancel if I do get an onsite one or dont get tickets. I am going all out so at least if I dont score I did my best. You do that and I'll Jeff Gordon yours! I thought that the tickets and camping both go on sale in January for us non regulars?
Can I stay there if my wife let's me go? I promise to bring lots of meat. She says I can't go. Sorry guys. FB, you have to go in my place now.So.....anybody thinking what I am?
YOUR WIFE? I'm in charge in my house. For example, I can watch whatever I want on the 13" set in the garage...Can I stay there if my wife let's me go? I promise to bring lots of meat. (Go ahead and use your imagination Fender)
Yeah but do you have a 13" to go with yours? Most of us have a set...you guys need to find yours

i think what i'm looking forward to is seeing who is able to perfect the eldora slide job, who isn't capable, and the reactions when one goes wrong. i did notice in the test video that they seemed to be trying to keep the truck straight through the corners. looked like the front end was pushing like a bulldozer. i don't think that will be the case come race day.
i truely believe the action at this race is going to make dirt fans out of people that would never have considered
before.
Get a roomI like fender bending
I've heard from others that have been there that they have plenty of camping available. I'm more worried about getting tickets than a place to stay. If worse comes to worse I'm sure some POP campsites will be opening up for that weekend, probably with hookups close to the track. I'm shootin' for six tickets if possible.I was looking into a nearby independant campsite in case I couldnt get an onsite one and cancel if I do get an onsite one or dont get tickets.
