Enjoy.

Thanks, FB! That was great!

I love watching PTI and even though Tony and Mike don't know squat about auto racing, they are still very informative when it comes to "mainstream" sports analysis.

As to your signature line, a recent POLL here on this very forum indicated that the majority feels that Jimmie Johnson is the BEST CURRENT DRIVER IN CUP.
You got some 'splainin' to do, Lucy!!

No.
Jimmie has the best crew chief but can't drive for crap in traffic :D

You mean the racing forums poll where Bill Elliott almost beat out Jeff Gordon? ;)

Jimmie wouldn't have seen two of those trophies if Brian hadn't have changed the rules in the middle of the game ;)

I love how Wilbon is readin all of his question off his card, barely looking up. Yeah he had someone write his questions for him.

Richard Petty / Dale Inman

I can't really comment on Inman. Don't really remember much about him. If you're implying he sucked, I was talking more about todays era, like '90ish to today when the sport really started to even out and become more competitive. In today's NASCAR, it would be nearly impossible to win with a crappy crew chief.

It was just to show that the driver /crew chief combo has be a mainstay in the sport from the early days .It just seems like a new thing . (kinda like start and park).:D

I don't get the whole "complaining about S&P is a new thing" argument. I've heard it complained about for many years. It's nothing new.

Do you really think that Chad cheats more than any other crew chief cheats?
I don't. He's just better at it that anyone else!

And Jimmie deserves every one of his CUP titles, IMO.

Yep, he sure does. That's a great team they had going.

Not to mention that it might get that crew chief a cushy top level job with Nascar.

RIGHT! Can you say Randy Pemburton? lol

'Splain the multiple fines :D

NASCAR's history is made up of guys who "cheated". Junior Johnson is maybe the most famous example of that - and he's in the freakin' Hall of Fame!

Ray Eveinham was an "innovator" aka cheater. JGR was busted for illegal oilpans. Roush had unapproved pressure relief systems (hinged oil cooler covers, Waltrip used kerosene to coat the inside of the intake manifold, etc, etc, etc.

NASCAR driver Richard Petty, in a 1972 newspaper article, was said to have once remarked, “If you ain’t trying to cheat a little, you ain’t likely to win much.”

NASCAR didn't fine people as readily as they do today. They would just tell the person not to do that again. Few listened, however...

Chad is no more of a cheater than just about anybody else. And those who don't cheat as well as he does, wish they could be more like him!

Thought I got rick rolled but it was just Brad Keselowski.

I think you mean Robin Pemberton, not Randy.
The sport has changed quite a bit since the Junior & Richard days.
I'm not saying others do not cheat, but no single modern-era crew chief has been busted and fined as often as Chad Knaus.
My point, simply, is that Chad is a cheater.

I think the big story of 2012 was over looked. When Brad spoke out about the 'trick' rear ends HMS was using and NASCAR made new rules, JJ's performance never took that usual Chase jump and he started making driver errors. NASCAR took away HMS's Chase ace in the hole and they didn't have anything else to bring. Race Hub did a little thing about the trick rear ends with Bootie Barker, and he said HMS and some others were doing things they weren't supposed to be doing. IMO, setting the car up to pass inspection and then exceed limits while racing is cheating. I think NASCAR saw it the same way and ended the practice with the new car.
