I once drove my Jeep into a ditch after spending all afternoon watching racing and drinking Jim Beam. Fortunately, I was just driving back from the next house over, and didn't get any further than ten feet when that happened. Cost me a new exhaust pipe. Never did anything like that before or since.

Sorry Paul, that's where I meant to post it. Just a sick kitty on the wrong board;) :( :(

MOEWWWWWWWWWW????

I'm not a drinker. A friend of mine got caught in a (what do you call it when the police check a whole bunch of people?) a few weeks back. $1000 fine and license suspended for 9 months I think. I believe it was her first offense. She lives in nowhere usa, so she's stuck. No public transportation close by.:dunce:

kat220 "MOEWWWWWWWWWW????"

Wow, she must really be sick. Look at that meowwww. ;)

I'm a probation officer, and supervise several DUI cases. Some people never learn. I always said, even back in my day when I was into a little bit of EVERYTHING, that they would never have to take me to jail. Just cuff me, and I'd quit whatever I was doing right then and there. It amazes me how many people I have that have been arrested 15, 20 times.

Have driven home somewhat snockered one time. Why I didn't hit anything or anyone is beyond me. Haven't done it since.

I guess the Lord was looking after this fool.

My ex was arrested for DUI four times that I know of. Twice in Louisiana (which encouraged him to move to New York), once in his own driveway, and once a few weeks after we broke up. He just refused to believe there was anything wrong with it. Now he's in California, and I wonder if they've yet gotten around to taking away his license there. What a total loser.

Driving Drunk is like carrying a loaded gun,and having a hair trigger.:(

Agreed pb, that's why if I having 1 drink, I am either at home or call a cab if I'm out.

My hubby spent 6 months in jail after 3 duis in 6 months, on probation for another 18 months and that sure taught me a huge lesson.

But, the idea was to teach him a lesson. I think. ;)

When I was younger I got very lucky on several occasions. But, that's another story.

I have driven drunk a few times but wasn't really smashed when I drove it wasn't to a point that I was swerving, but the last time I drove drunk about 3 years back I was really hammered, the bartender cut me off even, and one of the regular said wow when he did that, he said he has never seen them cut anybody off before, so I went to my car and took a nap waiting for my friend to come out at closing time and the only thing I remembered was starting the car and leaving the parking lot, the next thing I remember was my friend telling me to turn at this gas station, the problem is that the station was about 2 miles or so from the bar and I had to driver threw a town and make several turns and I don't remember any of it, at the gas station I got me head clear and drove the rest of the way home because I had to because my friend passed out in the passenger seat. After that night I never drover after drinking again.

I do not think anyone should drive while even slightly impaired. The problem is with the many people who can't drive even when sober. add a little booze and these people are a problem waiting to happen.
