Neither has Danica Patrick. Yet here you are lobbying for her to get the spot.

Guess what, Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon are both much better drivers. Both deserved spots. But the voting was down to two crappy picks. Well guess what, I'll take the guy who has had to race his entire career in subpar stuff and who has done much more with absolutely no sponsorship than Danica Patrick could ever dream of.

So, this is a stupid argument. The fact that people have to defend Danica says it all. She's earned nothing in racing. Absolutely nothing and yet here we are watching her ride around in a premier ride, with a premier sponsor in NASCAR's top series. It's a joke. So I'm glad the Jose Wise joke beat her out.

I'm really not lobbying for Danica to have gotten the spot. The point I was trying to make was that Josh Wise didn't belong in the All-Star race. Especially on the vote of a bunch of lames with zero NASCAR knowledge.

Bob, I don't think Wise is that good of a driver, but I think you're underselling him a little. Phil Parsons probably has one car. If he said to Wise, "Don't smash up the car", Josh is going to cruise around in back and stay out of trouble. If Wise raced for a bigger team, he might take more risks. I don't think you can blame the driver entirely when his team doesn't have two dogecoins to rub together.

I recognize your point. My point is that there were other drivers that were more deserving, talent-wise, than Josh Wise, to race in the All-Star race. The fact that an underserving driver made it into the race, primarily on the vote of a non-NASCAR based community, tarnishes the validity of the criteria necessary to qualify for the "All-Star" race.
 
Am I the only one who wanted Danica to get into the All Star race to see if she could build on her momentum from Kansas?

I'm looking forward to the 600. Wise has had his entire career to secure a seat in a top tier ride, just like every other driver. IMO, he hasn't proven himself. I'm not really saying Danica has either, although I believe she possesses more talent as a driver.
Larson deserved the chance in the All-Star race over Wise, based on talent, not vote.
I guess I'm just not a fan of the vote.

Yea, I get where you're coming from, honestly I thought the fan vote was a farce, a stupid gimmick to make fans feel more "connected" to the sport. If they wanted to make the fans feel more connected, how about giving them greater access to the drivers, or maybe not charge an arm and leg for a hot pass?
