Excuse me for a second, I'm going to go attend a funeral for journalism.

Chase Elliott's the youngest winner in ARCA Racing Series history?

WOW!!! I never knew that 17 was younger than 16! Thanks, media! You learn something new everyday!

Either that or James Buescher's win at Lakeland in 2007 (when he was 16) didn't happen.

But if that's the case, someone might want to inform ARCA because it's listed here on their website: http://www.arcaracing.com/schedule.php?contentid=1106

And it also shows up here: http://archive.paddocktalk.com/story-51139.html

Now I see why Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch get so bent out of shape all the time with the NASCAR media. During the ****** telecast, Rick Allen made it crystal clear that Elliott would be the youngest "superspeedway" winner not the youngest winner in series history.

In fact, in a little bit of irony, one of those articles was written by Tony and Kurt's best friend forever Bob Pockrass.

But let's not let facts ruin a perfectly good story that we can sensationalize trying to hype up the second coming of Dale Earnhardt (actually, he's more the second coming of Joey Logano:rolleyes: ).

A great accomplishment either way by Chase.

Looking forward to see what he can do in the rest of the ARCA season.

Where was Dad, by the way?

On top of one of the haulers watching.

Did someone say sensationalize???

Andy, I'm afraid you're a bit late for that funeral.

Seriously, dude, ANY Elliott is automatically better than any Earnhardt. Piss poor analogy.

Damn.

Obviously, Speed was deeply embarrassed by Andy because this morning on RaceDay or RaceHub or SpeedHub (whatever they call one of those pre-race shows), they said Chase Elliott was the youngest superspeedway winner in ARCA history.

Bill Elliott, Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler, Elliott Gould, Elliott from ET.....all automatically better than Earnhardt. ;)

ESPECIALLY Elliott Gould...he's the main guy I had in mind.

Also, I think the old yuppie TV show '30 something' had an Elliott as well......he qualifies too.

Really? that's interesting and surprising to me. His dad was always pretty humble. Kind of disappointing really.:(

Yes, he won an ARCA race at Pocono with a Hendrick Motorsports car and he had an experienced NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pit crew headed by Lance McGrew work on his car during green flag pit stops. Danica's half-win in the IndyCar Series has more credibility than Chase Elliott's ARCA win.

I'm not impressed.

Journalistic license? What is a 'half-win'? Seriously,as I don't follow Indycar.

Quite literally, the race she won, half the field wasn't there. It was the year the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Champ Car World Series merged. Because of that, they had two races on one weekend - both were IZOD IndyCar Series points events. 20 drivers raced at Long Beach and 18 drivers raced in Twin Ring Motegi. Motegi is the race Danica won (because of fuel but a win is a win).

If any other driver had won that race, it would have an asterisk next to their name. But Danica won it and the whole world forgot what that race reall was.
